Joseph’s Forgiveness

Joseph was loved by his father, but hated by his brothers. Out of jealousy, they threw him into a pit and sold him as a slave. Years later, Joseph rose to power in Egypt, second only to Pharaoh himself.

When famine came, his brothers traveled to Egypt to buy food. They bowed before Joseph, not knowing it was him. Joseph had every reason to take revenge. He could have punished them for the pain and betrayal they caused.

But instead, Joseph wept. He forgave them and said:
“You meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, to save many people alive.” (Genesis 50:20)

Through forgiveness, Joseph turned his pain into purpose. His mercy not only restored his family, but also showed that God’s plan is greater than man’s hatred.

Moral Lesson:

True forgiveness is not forgetting the wrong, but choosing to see God’s hand in every trial. Forgiveness heals, restores, and allows God’s purpose to shine through.
