Crispy cauliflower bites coated in a tangy, sweet, and savory sauce—perfect for a snack or appetizer!

🥦 𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 :

For the Cauliflower Bites:
🥦 1 medium cauliflower, cut into florets

🧂 ½ cup all-purpose flour (or chickpea flour for a gluten-free option)

🥛 ½ cup plant-based milk (almond, soy, or oat milk)

🧂 1 tsp garlic powder

🧂 ½ tsp salt

🧂 ½ tsp black pepper

🌶️ ¼ tsp smoked paprika (optional, for extra flavor)

🫒 1 tbsp olive oil (for baking)

For the Sweet and Sour Sauce:
🍯 ¼ cup maple syrup or agave syrup

🧂 2 tbsp rice vinegar

🍅 2 tbsp ketchup

🌶️ 1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari

🧄 1 clove garlic, minced

🌶️ 1 tsp grated fresh ginger

🌶️ 1 tsp chili paste or sriracha (optional, for heat)

🧂 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (for thickening)

👩‍🍳 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 :

🔥 Prepare the Cauliflower:
1️⃣ Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2️⃣ In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, plant-based milk, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika until smooth.
3️⃣ Dip each cauliflower floret into the batter, making sure it's fully coated, then place it on the baking sheet.
4️⃣ Drizzle the olive oil over the cauliflower to help it crisp up.
5️⃣ Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the cauliflower is golden and crispy.

🍯 Make the Sweet and Sour Sauce:
6️⃣ While the cauliflower is baking, combine maple syrup, rice vinegar, ketchup, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and chili paste (if using) in a saucepan.
7️⃣ Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
8️⃣ In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then add it to the sauce. Stir until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.

🍽️ Assemble the Cauliflower Bites:
9️⃣ Once the cauliflower is crispy, remove it from the oven and transfer it to a large bowl.
🔟 Pour the sweet and sour sauce over the cauliflower and toss gently to coat evenly.

🍽️ Serve & Enjoy!
1️⃣ Serve immediately as a snack, appetizer, or side dish with extra sauce on the side for dipping.

Thank u Mystery sis for sharing this recipe🥰
I tried today the recipe with small changes.
- I boiled the cauliflower for 5 min because I used the airfryer.
- I used normal milk and table vinegar.

The batter coated cauliflower without sauce
was yummy and crispy.
I had to save it from Amma🙈 🤣

I was sceptical with the sauce.
But it was surprisingly good.
I will try this sauce for chicken aswell one day.

But one thing.
It didnt came out crispy after i added the sauce.
So I airfried the sauce coated cauliflower for 5 min
So the agave syrup got caramelised.

Even it was not so crispy but the taste was good.
