Tire Size: A Quick Guide CTTO

Ever notice the numbers and letters on your tire sidewall? These markings are crucial for ensuring safety and performance. Here's a simple breakdown of what they mean.

Tire Size Components:

1. Tire Width (205): Measured in millimeters, this is the width of the tire's tread in contact with the road.

2. Aspect Ratio (55): The height of the tire's sidewall as a percentage of its width. A higher number means a taller tire.

3. Construction Type (R): "R" stands for radial construction, offering better fuel efficiency and ride comfort.

4. Rim Diameter (16): The diameter of the wheel rim in inches.

5. Load Index (91): Indicates the maximum load the tire can support, found using a load index chart.

6. Speed Rating (V): The maximum safe speed for the tire. "V" means it can handle up to 155 mph.

Why It Matters:

Safety: Incorrect tire sizes can affect handling and braking.

Performance: The right size improves fuel efficiency and comfort.

Replacement: Ensures you maintain your vehicle's performance.

By understanding these components, you can confidently choose the right tires for your vehicle.

My tyres sign🙈

1. 3PMSF, short for Three Peak Mountain Snowflake, is the best way to know your tyre is equipped and certified to drive in the snow.

2. M+S stands for Mud+Snow, indicating that the tyres are suitable for use in the winter
