Vazhapoo Vadai




Ingredients:
Vazhapoo - 1 cleaned and boiled
Bengral gram dal - 1 cup
Onions - finely chopped 1 cup
Salt to taste
Oil for Deep frying

Method:
Clean the Vazhapoo and boil them. How do you clean it ? Take each floret and remove the hardest part of it. along with a filament like petal. So now after you clean it cook it in the pressure cooker for two whistles. The cooked Vazhapoo florets would be like the one below.



Soak the bengal gram dal for about an hours time and drain the water.



In a blender add the cooked florets and bengal gram dal and make a smooth paste.To this mixture add the chopped onions and salt.



Make them into small patties , while the oil is getting heated in a thick bottomed vessel.



Drop the patties one by one and deep fry them. Remove them on a absorbent paper.



Serve hot with chutney or it can just be gobbled like that.
