A lot of people all over the world suffer from eye diseases. Not every problem with the eyes can be prevented, but there are simple rules that everyone can follow to save their vision. If you want to help your eyes be healthy, you need to do some steps.

Here are the most efficient tips to safeguard your eyesight:

1. Avoid overstressing your vision. Leave pauses during the day to close your eyes for a few seconds. Rest your eyes for 2–3 minutes at least every two hours.

2. Use special exercises to keep your eyes in order. Try them a few times every day.





3. If you wear glasses, be sure that your pair fits well. If you work with the computer, buy glasses with special lenses. They notably reduce eyes’ tiredness.

4. Use a massage. Move through points 1 to 6. Your movements need to be very gentle. You should feel pressure, but not pain.





5. When you are in the open air, try to look into the distance. Your eyes need to train by changing the focus.


6. Try an exercise with a pencil.

7. Look away from the computer screen! Don’t use a smartphone or TV before sleeping.


8. When you are tired, use warm water to refresh your face and eyes.


9. Wear sunglasses. This will protect your eyes from the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays.


10. Visit your doctor on a regular basis. You need to get a regular eye exam to be sure that everything is good. It is easier to prevent eye problems than to treat them.


11. Eat well. Foods rich in omega-3s can help to protect your eyes.
