Are Ur Hands And Feet Always Cold?

Find Out The Reason And What To Do To Remain Healthy

As for me, my hands and feet are cold all the time, and I know that many people have the same problem. I always wondered why I have frigid extremities, but I never got the ultimate answer. Some people say it is because of bad blood circulation, but is it true?

This is partly accurate. Our blood vessels are responsible for keeping our skin at a comfortable temperature. When it is getting colder, sensory receptors in our skin starts to inform our brain that it is necessary to constrict vessels. These changes help to conserve warmth in our body to save all our kidneys. Well, this mechanism helps us to survive, but sometimes it doesn’t work well.

This process can be caused by the smallest changes in temperature. One research shows that this reaction is most typical in women, due to levels of female hormones. Estrogen plays a huge role in regulating temperature. So, it is true women are more sensitive to cold than men

But if you experience more serious cold sensitivity, it may be a symptom of Raynaud’s disease. This condition results in cold extremities usually feet and fingers, but sometimes it also affects ears and nose. These parts of the body can turn blue or white and sometimes go numb. Depending on the severity of the condition, it can be treated with extra socks or gloves or special medications to widen blood vessels.

Cold hands and feet can also be signs of other conditions, including lupus, diabetes or hypothyroidism.

Sometimes low levels of a vitamin B12 or iron can cause the same symptoms. So, consult with your doctor to perform necessary tests and find the cause. If you are healthy but still have cold hands and feet, try to warm them by physical activity.
