60 Year Old Chinese "Olympics Man" Rides His Rickshaw From China To Rio For The 2016 Olympics

An obsession began since 2001 when Beijing was announced as the host for 2008 Olympics, Chen Guanming made a remarkable adventure with his rickshaw from his home in Tong Shan district to reach the Bird's Nest Stadium in Beijing in that year. It was an 800km journey!

Then a couple of years later, Chen went on an epic rickshaw journey from Tong Shan to London for the 2012 Olympic games which took 60,000km of pedalling through 16 countries, and that's 17,000 cities before reaching England on the 9th of July 2012.

.
Chen was spotted riding his famous rickshaw across Canada, the US and Mexico. He then continued cycling through Latin American and Amazon rainforest and ended up in Rio, Brazil.

He became a celebrity and attracted fans wherever he went with people taking selfies with him at his stops. Chen told BBC back in 2013, "this is my job now, to tell poeple of the world about the Olympics and about peace. I will keep going. I'll never stop doing the job I love until I die."

We've got a real Olympian here!
