Why We Should Not Leave Fever Tablets In The Fridge

When you get back home later, try to look into your fridge and check if there’s fever medications(paracetamol) cough or cold medicine in it.  We are sure there will be. Right?

Why do we keep these medications in the fridge?

1)There are several fever tablets which has paracetamol like Panadol,Axcel Paracetamol, Fepril, Uphamol and Kidz PCM.

Usually after consuming these medications and if there’s balance we will leave it in the fridge for 1-2 months depending on the type of medication. Don’t keep the opened medication for more than 2 months as the bottled medication is usually filled with clean air or nitrogen and when you open the bottle the nitrogen or the air will be released and normal air will get trapped in it. Normal air is filled with water vapour, fungi and bacteria.

The formed water vapour contains no preservatives and causes the bacteria or fungi to multiply in it then this water vapour will get mixed up with the liquid medication in the bottle.

We think that the medication stored in the fridge will last longer but it fastens the growth of bacteria and damages it. So if you want to keep spare medication at home get brand new ones and don’t open the bottle. Throw balance medication which you have kept in the fridge for months.
