2. K2 peak

K2 peak is in Pakistan, near the border with China, and is part of the Himalaya Mountain. The peak is famous with its other nick name - "Savage Mountain", because it is one of the hardest to climb, if not the most difficult. It is also famous for the black statistic that one of four people, who tried to climb it, lost his life while trying to reach the peak. There is no point of saying that everybody who would try to go up and climb the 8611 meters of K2 peak should be very well prepared, take all needed equipment and get in a good physical and psychological form. Even if all these precautions are taken, climbers need professional assistance to have a try. It is the peak that has never been climbed in the winter and this fact attracts many climbers to have an attempt in winter and write their names in the history as the first, who managed to do it. There is still a chance, but safety should be considered first!

3. Kangchenjunga

In Himalaya you can find and the third highest mount in the world - Kangchenjunga, situated between India and Nepal. Its height is 8586 m and it is one of the most beautiful mountain peaks in the world. A whole part of the Himalaya Mountain has the same name - Kangchenjunga, which contains five peaks, four of them with a colossal height over 8450 meters. The name means "the five snow treasures" and is given to this district of Himalaya, because of the these five mounts, each of them named after a treasure - gold, silver, grain, gems and holly books. This mount attracts many volunteers to climb it, because the view from its top is something absolutely out of the imagination. Yet if you are not prepared for the great physical effort to climb it and manage to breathe the air with low percentage of oxygen, it is better to enjoy the videos and photos, others have taken, than risk your life trying to climb there!

4. Lhotse

Mount Lhotse, situated between China and Nepal, is the fourth highest in the world with its 8516 meters above the sea level. Interesting fact about this peak is that it is connected with the highest in the world mount - Everest, by South Col and this is a great challenge for the professional climbers to make a double hit, climbing both! There are also two more peaks with a remarkable height - Lhotse Middle with height of 8414 meters and Lhotse Shar with 8383 meters of height. This gorgeous mount is not considered to be one of the most difficult to climb, but the danger should not be underestimated, and everyone, who dares to try, should have in mind that it is neither easy, nor free from harm while doing that. Lhotse offers exceptional views that are beyond comparisons!  This is why all attempts are eventually rewarded with a beauty that climbers will remember for lifetime!

5. Makalu

Again in the same region, between Tibet and Nepal you can find the fifth highest mount in the world - Makalu. Its height over 8450 meters is impressive and is also close to the first in the list - Everest. The shape of Makalu is absolutely interesting and makes it distinctive among all the others - it is a lone peak with a four-side pyramid shape, looking like taken from a childs drawing! The charm and attractiveness of Makalu mount is what makes it so desired for climbing - the first expedition that managed to climb it in 1955 was French, led by Lionel Terray. Makalu is a mount which is neither famous for being most dangerous and hard to climb, nor one of the easiest routs, but its position somewhere in the middle and its natural beauty and position revealing incomparable views make this peak one of the most desired to climb!

6. Cho Oyu

Only about twenty kilometres away from the champion Everest there is the sixth highest mount in the world - Cho Oyu, with height of 8201 meters above the sea level. Situated between China and Nepal, this impressive mount is more than attractive! The name Cho Oyu means "Turquoise Goddess" and is absolutely suitable for this magnificent creation of nature. The mount was first climbed in 1954, after the first expedition could not reach the top, because of a great danger for the safety of the participants. Today Cho Oyu is among the most preferable to climb by the keen alpinists, but being among the highest mounts in the world means that it is also among the most risky and challenging. Any attempt should be made carefully, with all the preparation and of course led by a professional climber! Even if all this is done, enthusiasts should have in mind that climbing one of the highest mounts in the world is not like a walk in park!

10. Annapurna

At the bottom of our list we will stop in the Himalaya again, seeing the tenth highest mount in the world. Annapurna is a part of Himalaya, consisting of several peaks, the highest of which is 8091 meters. The name means something like plenty of food in Sanskrit, but is usually translated as "Goddess of harvest"! Even though in our list Annapurna comes last, in the list of most dangerous peaks to climb, those of the Annapurna district come to be first. This is information based on the numbers, showing that 38% of all attempts to climb the mount have finished with a fatal end.  Even this dark glory doesnt stop the enthusiasts - the mount is among the most desired and all climbers would be happy to have the chance to try it. Yet if climbing is not in your nature and taking so many risks in not challenging, you could try one of the amazing picturesque treks in the region, offering views and scenes of indescribable natural beauty!
