4 Super Tricks To Clean Chopping Boards
To peel, clean and chop kitchen ingredients, we usually use the chopping board. But with regular use over a period of time, the chopping board becomes really dirty. Sometimes, it also gets yellow with age and exposure. At other times, you may notice stubborn stains on the board that refuse to go away. There is a way to clean your chopping board and make it shine like new again.
HOW TO CLEAN GREASY KITCHEN APPLIANCES You can clean your kitchen chopping board with lemon, vinegar, salt and a number of other cleaning agents. Using natural cleansers is your best bet because that way, you can limit chemical exposure to the food items that are chopped on this board.
Here are some of the most effective ways to clean your kitchen chopping board.
Lemon Juice
If you chop vegetables like plantain, beetroots on the board, then it might leave stains behind. Apply some lemon juice on these stains and leave it for a few minutes. Now, take a piece of lemon and rub the stains. The stubborn stains will get cleaned by the cleansing effect of lemon.
Soak In Vinegar
If your white fibre chopping board has become pale and yellow with age, then it needs a face lift. Mix 2tbps of vinegar in a mug of water and soak the chopping board in this solution. You can add some salt to increase the power of the cleaning solution. Leave the chopping board to soak for at least 10 minutes. Then, scrub it with liquid soap and wash under running water. Your chopping board will be as good as new.
Scrub With Salt
The chopping board might have black stains on it from leftover vegetable remains. The stains appear when the chopping board is not washed immediately. Use salt and lemon to scrub the chopping board clean of all these stains.
Tamarind Pulp
The pulp of tamarind mixed with salt is also a very potent cleaning agent. You can scrub your chopping board with this mixture so that all the stains are cleaned naturally. If the stains are particularly hard to remove, then soak the chopping board in tamarind water first.
