2. Beijing Capital International Airport, Beijing, China

The Beijing Capital International Airport in China is the countrys leading provider of international and domestic flights, serving more than 73,949,000 passenger flights a year. Cargo shipments also leave from the busy hub at a rate of almost 1, 600,000 tons a year transported quite impressive figures. BCIA has been open since 1958 and was just a small terminal then with only one building and a small paved landing strip. The original terminal building still stands to this day but it now only serves VIPs and small charters. Over the years the airport expanded and more hangers and buildings were added but by the mid 1990s the airport could not accommodate the traffic flow and established the terminals that now make up the massive airport, the biggest addition to the airport was on its 50th anniversary in 1998. There were some new runways added in 2007 and there will probably be many more additions over the years as it is not likely to slow down anytime soon.

For the Greater Los Angeles area the main airport is Los Angeles International Airport, it also one of the worlds most busy airports. Most people know the airport by its abbreviation of LAX; this is mainly due to Hollywood publicity. LAX is truly Californias most busy airport as most flights that come into the state come in through LAX and then changeover flights depart to smaller airports around the state such as the John Wayne Airport and the Long Beach Airport.
