Taking in the culture of the destinations in this list is some of the best ways to spend your time as they all have their unique atmospheres and their own character that will leave you with a great cruise experience.
1. Caribbean
The best time to take a cruise to the Caribbean is in the months of January and February as the weather is almost always perfect, you wont find a lack of sunshine during these two months. During the summer the Caribbean is much more crowded thats one of the drawbacks of summer months. The chain of islands divides the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean and is around 2,000 miles long. It is unique in the manner that you can go to one side of the islands and relax on the emerald green of the Gulf and one the opposite side enjoy the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. The islands are part of the West Indie archipelago and are composed of reefs, cays ad islets. In the archipelago you can find the Caicos islands, The Turks and the Bahamas, these are some of the best islands to visit during a cruise and some of the most popular as well.

2. Hawaii
The Hawaiian Islands are some of the best islands to visit they have all the beauty of the Caribbean on top of some other landscape features that are to die for. When travelling to the Hawaiian Islands you will find that the landscapes are so divers and intriguing that exploring the islands is almost irresistible. The islands range in scenery from resort populated beaches to sparsely populated farmlands. Of course, there is the classic luau that just has to be experienced in person at least once in your life, the way it is depicted in Hollywood films just does not compare. When cruising to the islands it is likely that you will be greeted by coconut wearing locals that will place wreaths of tropical flowers around your neck and lead you to your next stop on the island. The Hawaiian culture is unlike any other in the world and is one of the best parts of visiting the Islands and that is aside from all the funs activities that can be had throughout all the beautiful islands.

3. Fjords of Norway
Taking a cruise in the Fjords of Norway is one of the best times you can have in your life, the scenery is life inspiring to say the least. A fjord is an islet with sharp cliffs and steep slopes and in Norway there are over 1190 of them and many of them can be enjoyed by visitors yearlong. The fjords are carved out by ancient glaciers, so massive in size that they literally sliced through the prehistoric lands millennia ago. One thing unique to the Norwegian Fjords is that within the last ten years there was discovered the existence of coral reefs on the bottoms of some of the fjords, this is very uncommon in a fjord and the Norwegian fjords are the only ones in the world with such features. Something interesting about the Fjords of Norway is that even though are host to many saltwater life-forms and even several species of shark, they have a layer of fresh water on top of the salt water, giving it the opportunity to support fresh water life-forms too.

4. Baltic Sea
Set in Northern Europe you can another great cruise destination, the Baltic Sea. The seas composition is brackish Mediterranean and is home to the Danish Islands. The sea is probably one of the largest brackish bodies of water in the world and was created by glaciers melting at the end of the ice ages. The sea is frozen over in about 45% of its surface area every year mainly to the north of the sea and usually a cruise will bring you to the edge of the frozen waters to see the spectacle of green grasses bordering with green grasses and open plains, the contrast is quite remarkable in nature. There are many places along the sea that cruises will likely port and almost all the towns and countries that have coast on the sea are filled with rich history and great historical sites to see; the beaches are a plus too!

5. Antarctica
Ever thought of taking a cruise to the South Pole? Probably not as it is in the southern most continent on earth, Antarctica and the first thing most people think is cold. The continent though is really quite amazing and it is a great destination to take a warm cruise to, okay you wont be lying out on an open air deck getting a tan but most cruise ships have an enclosed deck for that, usually with a pool. The real beauty of Antarctica lies in its natural beauty and the marine and wildlife that inhabit the land and the waters. The continent is some of the least disturbed places on earth today and is the home to many natural features that are worth seeing. As you cruise around the continent you will likely see swarms of penguins, killer whales, polar bears, walruses and seals, you will also see the two transarctic mountains that make up the continent.

6. Mediterranean
The Mediterranean region of the Mediterranean Sea is the perfect place to take a cruise to and some even say it is the only place they will take a cruise ship. The Mediterranean Sea has many prime places that a cruise could entail such as Greece, Italy, Spain and France that could be some of the destinations a cruise ship will port as they all have coastal towns on the sea an some even have islands as well. That may be how the sea inherited its name as the Latin translation is "inland” or "In the middle of the land”. Most of the towns that have a Mediterranean coast are historic cities with a phenomenal amount of history as the sea was a major route of trade through the centuries and it was also the main stomping grounds of the Roman Empire. There are many charters that will take you to many of the cities along the shoreline and even some of the ten major islands in the sea.

7. South Pacific
The south Pacific Ocean is a great place to travel on a cruise as well as it is home to some of the most beautiful islands in the world. The infamous Bora Bora is in the South Pacific. The "South Pacific” is not really an ocean in itself, it is just the popular terminology for the southernmost region of the Pacific Ocean and it is one of the most traveled. This is mainly due to the rich development in the islands that make up the Oceania, which is a group of island chains spread all about the South Pacific. There are more than 2,000 islands in the South Pacific and just about every country owns islands in the region. Some of the well-known archipelagos are the Cook Islands, Easter Islands and the French Polynesia. Most of the islands are either reef or atoll islands or volcanically formed. They have some of the clearest coastal waters and the most unique land formations in the world.

8. Alaska
A little unknown fact about Alaska is that Alaska is the biggest state of the Americas, it is actually bigger than the state of Texas and it has more coastline than all of the states in the continental U.S. combined. Many take trips to the state to work, some to explore and some to cruise the coast, which is quite amazing, contrary the common belief. The state of Alaska has been a major cruise destination for many years as the land and its coast is inspiring especially at sunrise. There are mountains, glaciers lowlands and highlands and some neat little villages along the coast. Like Antarctica it has been largely unexplored and along the coast you are likely to see many animals basking in the sun , you may even catch some grey whales splashing in the water as well as they travel along the Alaskan coast during their migration cycles.

9. Mexico
Taking a cruise to Mexico is still very popular; the recent turmoil in the country may lead you to believe that it is no longer a safe place to travel but that is not entirely true, places like Cancun and some of the bigger tourist destination are still very safe as the main brunt of the unrest is outside of the tourist destinations. When it comes to sunshine and warm weather Mexico is the place to be. It is also the place to go for a great time spent out enjoying the culture, there is festival almost every day in the country. Being the birthplace of the piñata says a lot about knowing how to have fun. Mexico is home to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World and has over 31 UNESCO world heritage sites. As far as UNESCO goes it is ranked one of the 5th most history filled countries in the world.

10. Galapagos
The Galapagos Islands archipelago is one of the most unique chain of islands in the world and its wildlife and marine life reflects in the same way. There are 14 major islands in the archipelago and just three minor islands. One of the minor islands known as "Nameless Island” is the main site for scuba diving in the Galapagos as there are over 3,000 divers that launch scuba around in the waters around the small island every year. The endemic species of the island were studied by Charles Darwin during the Beagle expedition and it is most well known in the scientific community for its fascinating number of endemic species including the Galapagos marine iguana, the vampire finch and the Galapagos tortoise. The observations of the animals of the islands contributed to Darwins theory of evolution. See what Darwin saw in the Galapagos during a cruise to the islands.
All of the places on this list are the best for taking a month long or even a few day long cruises. They incorporate some of the most beautiful cities in the world and places that have some of the richest historical sites. The rich history is aside from the wondrous view and spectacular lands and sights that can be had while cruising to these places. There is everything someone could want during a cruise it just depends on how long you want your cruise to be and what you want to see while cruising in the open waters. How long will your trip be? The fact rings true that once you cruise in one of these areas you will want to come back year after year. Try to visit them all as they are all more than worthy of anyones time.
