There are many theme parks and even some excellent dive sites. In Florida you can also find some of the best fishing on the east coast. In this top 10 list you will discover some of the best sites in the golden sand state. This is aside from the always popular resort city Miami Beach, which of course is in this list as well.

Disney Worlds ultimate competitor is the place we all love to go, Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. The park is themed with movies and fantasy in mind It is a place where you can have an encounter with a 50 foot shark named jaws and a place where you can fly high above New York City with Spiderman, when you are in Universal Studios the choices really are unlimited. 2. Key West

Key West is the most popular of the Florida Keys and it is rightfully so, as it is the Key with the biggest nightlife scene of all the Florida Keys and it doesnt lack in beachfront either. All of the Florida Keys are great to spend some time and Key West is no different. Key west boasts a plethora of fun water sports to choose from and a great club scene. Diving and Key West may be the second biggest attraction of the nice city. That is aside from the great Florida hospitality and killer seafood restaurants too. The seafood in all of the keys is served up fresh from the boat and that is meant almost literally as the Keys are known for their bountiful waters. The accommodations in Key West range from inexpensive chain hotels to Luxurious spa resorts, so just about anyone can make their stay in Key West without burning a hole in their wallets.

3. Downtown Miami

Miami was made famous by the film industry for many years and more recently by the CSI: Miami and it is almost just like the movies and TV series show it. As an international hub the city is quite diversified culturally and the downtown area reflects it diversification. Downtown Miami is full of fun things to do for just about anyone. In downtown Miami you will find three huge museums and numerous small unique galleries, some even in the form of live art works. You will also find that the nightlife is ranging from classy venues to all night raves in underground spots. The raves are most commonly held in abandon warehouses and aircraft hangers, this may seem much like a movie scene but in Miami life is like a movie and this rings true. There are many restaurants, holiday homes and great places either right around the corner from downtown Miami. One thing is for sure you will never have a day when you can honestly say you have nothing to do.

4. SeaWorld, Orlando

SeaWorld in Orlando, Florida is a theme park and marine observation center that is highly educational and heck of a lot of fun for kids of all ages. The complex houses a wide variety of marine life including a killer whale and about 15 or more dolphins. When you are in the park grounds you will almost smell the saltwater immediately and  your sense light up as you hear the loud speaker announcing that the shark feeding is about to commence, which is something you dont want to miss, mind you. You can even feed the dolphins and stingrays, it is really fun to feed the stingrays and you can pet them as they glide by on the surface of the water. Every day the park puts on pretty awesome shows too, like the killer whale show but remember to bring your towel because during the show the resident killer whale makes some big splashes.

At the Kennedy Space Center in the Visitors Complex, you are sure to have fun learning about the stars and how they were created. You will also learn about the space shuttles that carry the astronauts thousands of miles away and you will learn what it takes to survive in space. You can even get and a flight simulator and try going through a launch from lift off until space, it is quite a bumpy ride. 6. Sunshine Skyway Bridge

Although the Sunshine Skyway Bridge is not a theme park or space exploration center or even a city it is still a major attraction, especially to those who are architectural engineers so to say. The bridge spans from Tampa Bay all the way across the Hillsborough waters and is more than 4 miles long, nearly 22,000 feet in total. The impressive construction was completed in 1987 at least the one that now stands there was once another bridge built in the 1950s but a barge collided with it and destroyed a big potion, enough to wear the bridge needed to be rebuilt. The highways awesome Gulf of Mexico backdrop has lead many car manufacturers to film car commercials on it, so once you visit it and take a long look out over the water and get familiar with its features you just may be able to identify when a commercial has been filmed on the bridge.

7. Gatorland, Orlando

Gatorland in Orlando, Florida is not only a home to thousands of gators but it is home to insects, birds and some fun attractions as well. The park has just recently installed a zip-line as the popular sport is becoming a main hit in many parts of the world and now you can zip-line across the Gator land park high above giant 15 foot gators, resting just below you, now if that isnt a thrill then what would be? The gators of the park is what launched Gatorland to fame but since the opening there has been many other animals that now call the park their home such as pink flamingos and bats. The education center in the park is a place where people can get hands on interaction with the creepy crawly bugs and small animals of the park. Ever wanted to hold a giant tarantula? Well in Gatorland you can and you can also play with a scorpion too.

8. St. Augustine

The city was first settled in 1565 by Spanish explorers and has remained settled since then. St. Augustine is the site of many historic buildings, landmarks and structures. In the city there is even a giant castle that was built by the Spanish settlers in 1695. 9. Daytona Beach

The ultimate spring break destination within the United States is by far Daytona Beach, it is the city with the wildest parties during the spring months and when the parties start in Daytona Beach they dont stop until the spring is over, at least that is the way it seems. The music truly does play on especially on the beach during these months as live bands play all day and all night the scene is just slightly more calm in the daylight hours but not by much. When you came to Daytona Beach after or before the spring rush then the way of life in the city is a little more calm and slow paced, there is still many dance clubs open all night and still live music on the sand but only on weekends, so it is a peaceful place to be if you just want to relax but remember if you want to party to you pass out this is the place to do it as well. Just remember to cover yourself in sunscreen even if you are partying at night during the spring break season, because if you fall asleep on the beach you may wake up extra crispy.

10. Jacksonville

The largest city in Florida, by population and land size, Jacksonville has it all for all ages and all walks of life. The city boasts many museums in just about every style and even some private galleries that you may be invited to if you hang with the right crowd. It also has a booming night scene with some of the most interesting bars and discos in the state of Florida. It was in 1822 that the city was acquired from the Spanish and incorporated into the state; this is well noted in the historic district of the town. The city has many options when it comes to dining and a ton of choices of restaurant locations, like on the top floor of a skyscraper overlooking the city for example. In the city you can find many places to stay and there is something for about everyones bank account, although the best places to stay are some of the 5 star hotels or private rentals.

So, when you are in Florida or planning a trip remember these ten great places that are sure to make your trip that much better, of course this is not all that Florida offers, there is still the options of hitting one of the many other great places. There is still the option of sipping martinis on the sand too or renting a jet ski in Miamis South Beach. Florida is a great place to travel year round as the tropical climate makes it summer no matter what time of year you decide to make your stay. Be forewarned the relaxing waves and warm sunshine will make you feel as though you have lost your way home, so remember if you are not moving there you might just have to leave sometime.
