2. Cozumel, Mexico
The island Cozumel is located off the Yucat6an Peninsula of the country of Mexico and is part of the Mexican commonwealth. Many of the worlds most well-known cruise lines make stops to the island such as Disney, Carnival and Princess. The island is a popular tourist stop for those who like to go snorkeling and scuba diving. The island which is located in Mexicos Caribbean is the largest island that Mexico owns. The island is believed to be first settled by the Mayan in the 1st millennia and there has been many artifacts found that prove this and also prove there were other cultures on the island even before then. Another interesting fact of the island is that President Abraham Lincoln was in talks of purchasing the Island during his presidency, in hopes of using the island as a place to send freed slaves. 3. Charlotte Amalie, St Thomas, US Virgin Islands
Located on the island known as St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands is the capital city of the territory named Charlotte Amalie. The famous cruise port was once a reclusive haven for treacherous pirates but now it is a place where some of the top cruise companies bring their guests and patrons to relax and let loose on the clear water beaches of the city. It is believed that some 1.5 million passengers of cruise ships make a landing at the city each year if not more. Historically speaking the city is one of the best places to go in the Western side of the world having a ton of historic buildings and even the second oldest church or as it is known ”synagogue”. The city has a great tropical climate so you will surely never feel a cold draft. The summers are mild as well and the dry season is very short.

4. Philipsburg, St. Maarten
The number one popular town on the island of St. Maarten, is also the capital city known as Philipsburg, the island which is in the Caribbean is a popular island destination in itself. The town is quite well known when it comes to cruises as many of the worlds finest make frequent stops to the city. The city has a huge shopping area on the main street where many boutique shops and designer clothes stores can be found to choose from. Philipsburg was of great military and strategic importance throughout the islands history and this is well noted in the many historic forts that can be found throughout the town. A neat but dangerous attraction of the city is the airports close proximity to the beach. The airport of the city is just feet away from the sand and watching planes fly right over head has become quite the attraction as well as standing in the jet blast.

5. Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
The biggest of the Cayman Islands and holding the majority of land that is the Caymans is the island known as Grand Cayman. The island at its highest point is only 60 feet and is 22 miles long and just 8 miles wide. One of the biggest attractions of the island is the Queen Elizabeth Botanical Park, where everything can be found growing from passion fruit to Mangos, some of the sweetest on the island most say. All of these fruits can be found growing wild on the island as well and coconuts too. There is also a turtle farm on the island, which raises green sea turtles. The turtles are raised for release into their natural habitats around the island but also for their meat as it is a delicacy on the island. Over the last 30 years that the farm has been operating it has released about 35,000 sea turtle into the Caribbean and if you go snorkeling or diving around the island you are likely to see some of these turtles.

7. Grand Turk, Turks and Caicos
Grand Turk Island in the Turks and Caicos Islands is the capital of the island archipelago and it is commonly a port for cruises to make a stop in mainly because of its many things to do and the marvelous white sand beaches for their patrons to sunbath on. In 1492 Spanish slave herders came to the islands and started to captures the inhabitants of the islands to use them as slaves in their own country as their native population was depleting due to people migrating to other lands. Due to this capture of the people of the islands they were completely depopulated by the early 1500s and it remained this way for nearly 200 years. For years now the islands have been a major destination for US and Canadian travelers, accounting for more than 80% of the countrys visitors. Of course, this is because of the beautiful lands and unique beaches.

Alaska may be seen as just frozen tundra but the cultures hospitality in the city is quite extraordinary and the civilization has been around for a very longtime. The best thing about heading to the city in Alaska is the journey through the waters surrounding the port, which has more than 30 glaciers floating about. There are also prime opportunities to sea humpback whales, killer whales, dolphins, seals and sea lions throughout the waters. Whale watching during a cruise to Alaskas city of Juneau is one of the major attractions. The unique shapes of the massive floating glaciers are an attraction as well. The mountainous terrain that surrounds the city is where many of the locals go to relax in the wondrous arctic nature and shrubbery during the summer months and it is something that should be done by all visitors as the rugged terrain is magnificent in nature.

10. Princess Cays, Bahamas
Princess Cays in the Bahamas is a resort, which is actually owned by Princess Cruises, the resort is exclusive for patrons of the cruise company. This aspect of the company makes their cruises quite prized and to have an all-inclusive cruise with lodging in their own private resort is one of the bonuses the company gives their patrons. Take note of these marvelous places that you might encounter during your next or even your first cruise. Most of these places are in the Caribbean and most of the cruises that come to these great places set sail from the United States, mainly Miami, Mississippi and even from the state of Louisiana. The best thing is of course the beaches and pristine Caribbean waters found around these great destinations. The lands and cultures are also a big influence on the popularity of these places. When picking a cruise the stops along the way are important and these are great places to stop during any cruise experience. All ages can take part in a cruise to these places and some of you may be looking for a romantic place to go together while on your cruise and all of these destinations hold a perfect spot to watch the sunset together.
