2. Martyrs' Shrine
Martyrs' Shrine is built in 1969 in honor of the victims during the wars in China. Nowadays, this beautiful shrine is one of the major attractions in the city, located on the northern bank of the Keelung River and overlooks the hills of mountain Chingshan. You can come across a number of interesting sights to visit, such as the Front Gate with three huge arched entrances, the main Shrine with tall red hued columns and countless ornaments, as well as two tall pavilions, situated right in front the Shrine. 5. Baoan Temple
Between the Tamsui and Keelung rivers you can come across the scenic Baoan Temple. It is a small, but picturesque temple for exploration, thanks to its gorgeous Taiwanese ornaments and lush decorations. The central hall and the Shrine are enclosed by an outer construction and, thus, the inner corridor is best for walks. The colours and the typical shapes of the Baoan Temple from outside, as well as from inside, offer you a unique possibility to immerse completely into the history and culture of Taiwan. In general, this is an important attraction to include in your travel list.

6. Shin Kong Life Tower
A fabulous spot to observe the night lights of central Taipei is along the western bank of the Tanshui River. The view of the opposite shore is complemented by countless bright lights, whose inspiring concoction is wonderfully mirrored by the calm surface of the river, dotted by a number of scenic bridges. The mist over the city is usually coloured in dark hues, while the horizon is dominated by the Shin Kong Life Tower. This is one of the tallest skyscrapers in Taipei, which features 51 stories with an overall height of nearly 800 ft. above ground, as well as a solid architectural design. An observation deck at the 46th level offers a comprehensive panoramic view of the nearby cityscape, or, if you have binoculars - you can enjoy almost the entire city from a bird's eye view.

8. National Theater Hall
As you enter through the main gate of the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, you can come across a huge paved square, bordered by two basically the same buildings, situated on the both sides of the square. The National Theater and the National Concert Hall are two beautiful buildings that you can`t miss, where you can also take full advantage of numerous performing arts events. 9. Miniatures Museum of Taiwan
If you want to escape for a while from the materialism of our world, you can take a unique advantage of the Miniatures Museum of Taiwan. This is a place, where the sizes of the objects from the real world are transformed into another dimension, which features a 1:12 or 1:24 scale. There are even smaller objects. The Miniatures Museum of Taiwan showcases over 150 miniatures, which include a wide array of houses, people, famous landmarks, symbols, etc. For example, the Buckingham Palace in London might be entirely explored only through a blink of the eye. Another impressive place to witness is a Barbie house or a dollhouse with pink facades, complex ornaments and detailed balconies. Obviously, the smaller details are so realistically reproduced that it is difficult to believe in what you see.
