Alfred Creek Falls British Columbia, Canada



Alfred Creek, at one time known as Glacier Creek, is a creek flowing off the east flank of Mount Alfred, southeast into the lower reaches of the Skwawka River near its mouth into the head of Jervis Inlet, which is on the South Coast of British Columbia, Canada. It is the location of the unofficially-named Alfred Creek Falls, which cascades 700 meters (2,297 ft) down a sheer rock wall onto an alluvial fan and is one of North America’s highest waterfalls.

Angel Falls, also known as Salto Angel (in Spanish) or Kerepakupai meru (in Pemon) which means ‘waterfall of the deepest place’. The waterfall is located in South America in the Canaima National Park, in the Gran Sabana region of Bolivar State, Venezuela. It was discovered in 1933 by an American adventurer James Angel and to honor him this waterfall is named after his name. The waterfall is world’s highest waterfall and is about 3212 feet (979 meters) high with a single longest drop of 2648 feet (807 meters) and has 47 numbers of drops in all. Angel Falls drops from a tabletop mountain (tepuy) deep in a Venezuelan equatorial rainforest, and it is widely acknowledged as the tallest permanent waterfall in the world.

Augrabies Falls South Africa



The Augrabies Falls is a waterfall on the Orange River, South Africa, within the Augrabies Falls National Park. The falls are around 60m in height. The original Khoikhoi residents named the waterfall Ankoerebis, ‘place of big noises’, from which the Trek Boers, who settled here later on, derived the name Augrabies. The gorge at the Augrabies Falls is 240 m deep and 18 km long, and is an impressive example of granite erosion.

Baatara gorge waterfall (Balaa gorge waterfall) is a waterfall in the Tannourine, Lebanon.
The waterfall descends the Baatara Pothole, located on the Lebanon Mountain Trail. Discovered in 1952, the waterfall drops 255 m into a cave of jurassic limestone. The waterfall and accompanying sinkhole were fully mapped in the 1980s by the Speleo club du liban. The cave is also known as the “Cave of the Three Bridges.” During the spring snow melt, a 90-100 meter cascade falls behind the three bridges and then down into the 250 meter chasm.

The Barehipani Falls is located in the core area of Simlipal National Park in Mayurbhanj district in the Indian state of Orissa. It is the 2nd highest waterfall in India. The waterfall is situated on the Budhabalanga River flowing over the Meghasan mountain. The Joranda Falls is located nearby. The Barehipani Falls has a total height of 399 metres (1,309 ft). It is tiered waterfall with two drops. The tallest single drop is 259 metres (850 ft).

Barron Falls Australia



Barron Falls is where the Barron River makes its descent from the Atherton Tablelands to the Cairns coastal plain, in Queensland, Australia. Protected within the Barron Gorge National Park, the volume of water seen in the photo only occurs after substantial rainfall during the wet season. For much of the rest of the year, little more than a trickle is evident, due in part to the presence of a weir behind the head of the falls that exists to supply the Barron Gorge Hydroelectric Power Station located downstream in the gorge proper.

Blanche, Cascade, Reunion



This is one of the most famous waterfalls on Reunion Island. The falls drop down the side of the Bras de Caverne River valley in four steps with the first drop being 400 meters. Some estimate the falls at 2100 feet tall, but there are a few blurbs circling the internet that indicate the falls may actually be in the range of 800 meters. The falls seem to be on a relatively small drainage, but during the wet season, they are quite impressive, and can be quite powerful.

They are known as Tis Issat in Amharic, when translated, means ‘smoking water’ They are situated on the upper course of the river, about 30 kilometers downstream from the town of Bahir Dar and Lake Tana. Burney Falls is a waterfall on Burney Creek, in McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park, Shasta County, California. The water comes from underground springs above and at the falls, which are 129 feet high, and provides an almost constant flow rate of 100 million US gallons per day (4 m³/s), even during the dry summer months. The falls were called ‘the Eighth Wonder of the World’ by President Theodore Roosevelt, and were declared a National Natural Landmark in December 1984.

It is located 7.7 km from Terni, a provincial capital of the Italian region of Umbria. It pours into the valley below formed by the river Nera. Its flow is turned on and off according to a published schedule, to satisfy the needs of tourists and the power company alike. Comet Falls Washington



Comet Falls is a tall waterfall located on Van Trump Creek in Pierce County, Washington. The falls are thought to be the best in the Mount Rainier region. At first glance the falls drop about 300 feet (91 m) out of a hanging valley in one lofty plunge. The height of the plunge is actually 320 feet (98 m). The falls are more than that though, as there are two obvious smaller tiers below the main drop as well as one just visible above the main drop. The bottom two drops are 40 and 20 feet (6.1 m) high while the height of the upper drop is not known. In any case, assuming the upper drop is at least 20 feet (6.1 m) high, the falls are likely around 400 feet (120 m) high.
