The Story of the Wounded Bamboo

In a quiet village, there was a tall bamboo standing by the river. Everyone admired its strength and beauty. One day, the village elder came and said,
“My dear bamboo, I need your help.”

The bamboo joyfully replied, “Anything for you, master.”

The elder spoke gently, “To use you, I must cut you down, strip off your leaves, and split you open.”

The bamboo shuddered. “That will hurt me deeply. Must it really be this way?”

The elder nodded. “Yes, but only then will you bring life to others.”

Though afraid, the bamboo surrendered. The elder cut it down, stripped its leaves, and hollowed it out. The pain was great, but soon water from the mountains flowed through the bamboo, reaching the dry fields. Crops flourished, families were fed, and the whole village rejoiced.

The bamboo, though broken, became the channel of blessing.

Moral & Biblical Truth:

Pain is not always a curse—it is often God’s way of shaping us for greater purpose. Like the bamboo, we may feel broken, but God uses our struggles to bless others.

Bible Verse:

“But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
—2 Corinthians 12:9 (KJV)
