Indian 2 Movie Review:

Aravindan (Siddharth), Aarthi (Priya Bhavani Shankar) and couple more friends are creating the youtube videos about corruption and social awareness related. In one of the incident, Aravindan gets arrested and his girl friend Disha (Rakul Preet Singh) comes to bail him out & makes him to understand the reality of this corrupted nation. So Aravindan wishes that Senapathy aka Indian should come back and trending the ComeBackIndian tag. After few incidents, Senapathy is arriving to India and speaks through social media that corruption cleaning must be started from each house & youngsters should support it and in parallel he will also fight for the same through Netaji route. On the other side, cops Pramod (Bobby Simha) & Elango (Vivek) team are progressing to capture Senapathy. What happens further, is rest of the story.

Positives: Core story line, Actors performance, Hard work in making and action sequences, Rich visuals, Climax, Few sentiment sequences in second half, BGM, Cinematography.

Drawbacks: Dialogues are not that much impressive, Attempted for different kind of varmam attack but it went like a comedy, Few getups of Senapathy were awkward, Neelorpam song was missing, Lack of emotional connect.

Verdict: Watchable once as a time pass with little patience.

SHANKAR made the first announcement on INDIAN 2 in BIGG BOSS season 1 finals on 30th September 2017.

Two months after 2.0’s release, INDIAN 2 began filming in Jan 2019 which was 5 years ago. Soon after, KAMAL could not join the shoot because of his party’s debut in the 2019 elections. 

Shooting resumed post-elections, but an unexpected crane accident in Feb 2020 killed three & injured many. KAMAL, SHANKAR & KAJAL AGARWAL narrowly escaped from the jaws of death by just a minuscule of time. In a month’s time, COVID halted filming in March 2020.

Indefinite delays in shooting caused ego clash between LYCA and KAMAL which lead to shelving of the film. KAMAL signed VIKRAM in late 2020, which shocked SHANKAR, who then moved to GAME CHANGER. VIKRAM's mid-2022 success revived INDIAN 2. UDHAY STALIN mediated a truce, shooting resumed in Sept 2022, and now, by 12th July 2024, INDIAN 2 is all in the hands of the audience.

After continuous several setbacks, finally this film is ready for release. If INDIAN 2 is considered as a person, it should be considered as a person who NEVER GAVE UP despite all the hurdles.

INDIAN 2 will remain as SHANKAR’s movie which was longest in production status due to unexpected several delays. Looking forward to INDIAN 3 as well by 2025.
