Are You Addicted To Squeezing Pimples?

Are you addicted to popping zits? If so, then you possess an unusual mental disorder known as .

But let’s clear some things up. What is a zit? A zit is a small pimple which appears on the face or body as a result of blocked pores.

If you’ve checked the skin on your face, you will have noticed that we have tiny holes called pores. These are hair follicles. These pores have a sebaceous gland. These glands are in charge of producing the sebum required to lubricate the skin. Sometimes, for any number of reasons, the quantity of sebum is incorrect. Adding dead skin cells and germs to this, the pores get blocked and, as a result, those dreaded zits appear.

According to a study, women are more likely to feel the desire to burst zits and feel more pleasure while doing so compared to men. That is, women are more prone to having excoriation disorder. According to one study, this mental disorder displays a subconscious desire to mark the skin.

When we burst a zit and feel pleasure, this is because our brain produces dopamine. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter of the nervous system, which produces a feeling of pleasure and tends to be addictive.
