What comes to mind when you see a foreign worker? And what do you do when someone gets up and offers you their seat?

A story about what a kind-looking uncle said to a foreign worker from India in the MRT has gone viral, and has touched many hearts.

It was Saravanan's 3rd day in Singapore when he met Uncle Lau on the MRT, on his way to his work place. The train wasn't full as it was off-peak time.

When Saravanan and his friends got up to offer their seats to Singaporeans, Uncle Lau said, "Hey you can sit down... you don't always have to give up your seat, especially not to men on the train. You came here to build our homes so you can sit also you know?"

"You came here to build our homes so you can sit also you know?"

What Uncle Lau said really touched Saravanan's heart. He and his friends started talking to Uncle Lau, he even took a selfie with him!

It's always great to be kind to people, you never know how much it'll cheer up their day.
