The Sun Friend Personal UV Monitor

If you do venture out into the sun’s rays more often, you need to give your skin proper protection from the sun. While sunscreen will certainly help, different skin types have differing sensitivities to UV exposure, and it’s hard to tell when you’ve gotten enough sun for the day.

Balloon Lamp lights up the room in style

Every room needs a decent lighting option, and the usual fluorescent lamps tend to be boring fixtures in most homes. While we have seen some innovative ideas like the Magic Potion Lamp that will certainly get Diablo and RPG fans excited, here is something that is a little bit more universal for you to check out
After all, everyone loves balloons they are the mainstay of any party or happy event, and clowns and balloons tend to go hand-in-hand. The only downside to balloons is the fact that they burst all too easily, providing a scare for the weak-hearted from time to time. Well, this particular Balloon Lamp, as its name suggests, will not burst at all, and yet it goes about illuminating your space as a floating light source. It will also not float away, and all you need to do to turn it on is to press the balloon knot. You can also opt to cycle through a whole spectrum of bright colors for that added touch of glamor, and it “levitates” approximately 10cm above the surface you put it on. The sturdy metal stand that you see has been designed to look like a dangling string.

The Modobag will let you zip through the airport at 8 mph

If anything is going to make you want to pull your hair out, it’s traveling. Everything is a deadline, and if you’re flying, getting through security can take anywhere from 10 minutes to 3 or more hours. Getting from one gate to another on a layover can show you how good of a runner you are as some airports are huge and you end up getting onto the plane as a sweaty, hot mess.
It already feels gross to travel with so many people around you, so why not at least give yourself a little bit of a break with the Modobag? This is luggage that has been motorized so you can zip around the airport at 5 miles an hour. This TSA, FAA, UN, and IATA compliant bag will not only get you from A to B faster, but it can charge your devices through its two USB ports, has GPS tracking so there won’t be any more cases of lost luggage, and is made of materials that make sure it won’t crap out on you.
This luggage uses a belt-driven 150 Watt electric motor, lithium batteries, a CNC-machined steering column with telescoping aluminum handlebars, motorcycle grade foot pegs, has a dual-wheel braking system, and a Dupont ballistic nylon shell. You’ll get around 85% of your regular storage space any other carry on would have, as the extra %15 is what gets you around faster. Speaking of which, you’ll also be able to go 8 mph through the outdoor setting. The battery can be charged in less than 2 hours, and can carry up to 260 pounds, but keep in mind that it weighs 19 pounds on its own.

Pyle Audio rolls out Doggy Fun

Doggy Fun is an automatic dog ball launcher with a ball return bin, making it ideal for playing with as well as to train your dog. Doggy Fun paves the way for busy dog lovers and their animals to exercise, all the while training the fundamentals of playing fetch — regardless of whether it is indoors or outdoors.

Doggy Fun will make use of small (1.5” in diameter), soft tennis balls that ensure the safety for your dog, making it a snap for just about any small or medium dog to fetch. Of course, if you have a large or giant breed that loves to play fetch, then such small balls might not be suitable as they would most probably be a choking hazard. Doggy Fun will be able to train your dog to retrieve balls and drop them into the funnel, and this will in turn cause the machine to shoot them out again. With such a mechanism, your furkid will be able to enjoy endless amounts of independent play, regardless of whether the owner is home or free to play. The launcher will sport a trio of different settings that launches the balls distances of up to 10, 20, or 30 feet.

The ReLeaf Leaf Scoops save your hands from crunchy encounters

If you are lucky enough to have your very own yard, then you get the joyous task of keeping it nice and clean. Having trees on the premises means shedding their luscious green as crunchy brown crisps every Fall, and as the groundskeeper, it is your duty to rid the grass of them. If you’ve done some yard work, you know that gathering up the mess and carting it away may be more time consuming, but condensing the debris is by far the more difficult task.

Not only do you have to wear gloves so you don’t cut up your hands, but you also have to smash everything down into a bag or barrel, which gives you the opportunity to impale your hands on a poorly positioned stick. These ReLeaf Leaf Scoops look like giant green baseball gloves, but will let you scoop, move, and smash down yard debris without direct contact. If you’ve never grabbed a nettle then you won’t know how exciting these are.

These little hulk hands are one-size-fits-all, and are worn by slipping your wrists into the straps and putting your fingers into the indentations. Those with delicate wrists will likely find this quite the aid for yard work as it will take some of the pressure off of your wrists by keeping them straight.

Sunglasses give your life a soundtrack while making you look cool

If you live in an area that sees a lot of sun, then you probably own at least one pair of sunglasses. Some like to be stylish and have multiples so they can coordinate with their outfits, but functionality and not spending copious amounts on many different pairs of shades can be just as effective. Of course, they don’t just have to be normal sunglasses that block your eyes from the rays of the sun. They can be far more…entertaining.

While you wouldn’t think of these sweet Sunglasses as being anything more snazzy shades, they’re also bone conduction speakers, and have a mic so you can take calls on the go. It’ll be so discreet that people will think you’re talking to yourself all over again, just like the Bluetooth earpiece craze, We’ve seen plenty of these bone conduction headsets in the past, though nothing quite this streamlined.

The benefits of these headsets are that they are much safer as the open ear allows you to hear exterior sound, its built-in mic is noise-cancelling, and has four hours of play time. Since these are likely meant for a very specific group of consumers .

The Sharp Plasmacluster Ion Generator will help you to keep your bathroom smelling fresh

Your bathroom is not exactly a clean place. We don’t go in there with the intent of coming out smelling of roses, but we also don’t want any aromas that are born in that room to waft into other parts of the house. While scented sprays and regular cleaning can do a great deal to improve the situation, they won’t immediately tackle anything…fresh.
Rather than trying to cover up a smell, why not kill it at the source? We’ve seen a fair few ionizer gadgets that will sterilize the air, but this Sharp Plasmacluster Ceiling Mounted Ion Generator will help you with more than one task as it is also your light bulb! This LED light screws into E26, 34mm light bulb sockets and will use the electricity from the socket to power the ion generator. It’s tackling two birds with one stone, and you get to have a fresher smelling home because of it!
This is motion activated, so any time there’s movement in its general vicinity it will start going to town on the air. While it would be useful to have these in other rooms of the house.

The Zip N Store – don’t forget what’s in the fridge

To keep your attention on what has been bagged up and in what order, the Zip N Store will help you keep your kitchen and refrigerator organized. This is a combination of different products that make utilizing Ziploc bags to their full potential possible. It consists of the Chop n Fil, a flexible cutting board with a stand that will let you slide food into the baggy without spilling it everywhere, the Cold N Store, a slide out unit that you install in your fridge which can hold up to 29 quart-sized bags, and the Dry N Store, the pantry version of the Cold N Store, but it can only hold up to 12 quart-sized bags.

For the freezer section there’s the Freeze and Stack, a box with plastic inserts that will let you freeze liquids into flat, stack-able shapes. There’s also a Freeze N Serve, which will let you put more fluid items over top of an indented tray so that when you remove it, it’s already in portioned bricks that you can snap off. It’s easy to assemble.

NatureZap uses light to kills plants – oh the irony

If you paid any attention in school, you would know that photosynthesis is what keeps plants alive and kicking. They use the energy from sunlight and turn it into chemical energy, fueling their plant functions. Of course it’s not just sunlight, as during this process plants use water and carbon dioxide as well to create their food and release oxygen into the air.
When you don’t want a plant to continue living because it’s a weed and you want to have a perfectly tended lawn, then you will need something strong to rid yourself of them. The NatureZap DE will not only get rid of the weed, but will destroy it at the source. This uses a blended spectrum of light that will kill roots, root crowns, and leaves before they start to grow into something more solid. This is super simple to use as you only need to plug in, zap, and call it a day.
The long handle on this will also help you to keep from bending over time and time again, waking up with a sore back the next day. There’s also the added benefit of not having to use such harmful chemicals, you’ll only get around 30-40 minutes of working time to play with. It’s also good to note that this is best used in spring, just as all these plants are beginning to take root as it is always better to take preventative measures than work against a fully grown plant.

Driveway Doorbell announces your arrival to the household

Have you ever noticed that your pooch at home would know just who has pulled up into the driveway long before you do? That can be attributed to their amazing sense of hearing, but if you would like to make sure that you are on a level playing field without going for some genetic modification or enhancement to your ears, then the Driveway Doorbell will be able to do the trick as well.
The Driveway Doorbell certainly lives up to its namesake, being a system that will sound a chime in your home whenever there is a vehicle that pulls right up your driveway. This is made possible thanks to the system’s remote motion sensor that will be attached to a mailbox post or address sign that is located at the end of a driveway. Upon detection of motion, it will send a signal back to the in-home receiver that can be placed up to 400′ away. The system’s receiver will then generate a 45-second-long chime as its LED flashes so that anyone at home will be alerted to the arriving presence.
There are four volume settings (from 80dB to 125dB) to choose from with five different alert melodies that can be set. Thankfully, each purchase will come with the necessary mounting hardware right out of the box, although do obtain enough AAA and C batteries — you require three of each.

New Tech Could Read Books Without Opening Them

Using technology akin to X-ray vision, scientists can read closed books, identifying letters printed on stacks of paper up to nine sheets thick.
The prototype device uses terahertz radiation, the band of electromagnetic radiation between microwaves and infrared light. Previous research has found that terahertz rays, or T-rays, possess a number of advantages over X-rays, ultrasound waves and other kinds of radiation that can penetrate surfaces
