Santosh Sivan conferred 'Padma Shri'
Ace cinematographer-turned director Santosh Sivan was conferred with the Padma Shri, by the Government Of India on Republic Day.
A visibly happy Santosh Sivan said: “Came as a welcome surprise. I'm grateful to the Tamil film industry for this honour. It is the beginning of a new chapter in my life.”
Santosh thanked the graduates of the Film and Television Institute of India for proposing his name for this prestigious honour.
The cinematographer turned director and actor is now shooting for Suriya’s Lingusamy directed Anjaan. He is using the latest version of Red Dragon digital camera for the film.
