"Mary Qian" Chinese-born American Impressionist Artist
Mary Qian is a Chinese born American Impressionist Artist. In 1998, she earned her BFA in Fine Arts and Illustration from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah. She originally hails from Shanghai, China.
She studied in traditional Chinese educational system focusing on the sciences while studying Chinese Calligraphy and painting on her own. She has always admired Chinese painters but she found herself attached to western artists and art styles. She always admired realism of Velazquez, Repin etc. Currently she resides in the US.
