Dry skin is a very uncomfortable condition accompanied by itching, and cracking. It can occur for a number of reasons. Let’s find out more about it.

There are two types of dry skin:

*Normal dry skin (meaning dry is your skin type). The surface of such skin is matt, smooth, elastic, and has no wrinkles. These qualities of skin are typical for young age, but this skin type is quite sensitive. It needs constant and thorough care, protection from the sun and other irritants. Without proper care it quickly loses its tone and elasticity;

* Abnormally dry skin (xeroderma). The skin is thinned, especially in the areas around eyes and mouth and is prone to folds and wrinkles. Usual skin care products aren’t enough for such skin; it requires more advanced and effective methods of care. The condition gets worse in dry and cold winters. Xeroderma is common among senior people in whom metabolic activity of skin decreases and sebaceous glands become less active, especially in lower part of body.
