Have you ever had cold sores? Your answer will most likely be positive. According to the official statistics, an estimated two-thirds of the world population under age 50 has the cold sore-causing virus HSV. It makes us feel uncomfortable and last for two to four weeks before disappearing. But we have some good news for you. There are lip balm recipes that will help you deal with this problem.
The first one is called “Shea butter lip balm.” It is not so difficult to make. Firstly, fill the container half-way with water and place on stove. Then put a smaller container inside to make a double boiler. After that, you have to add Shea butter, beeswax, and coconut oil to the smaller container. When melted, whisk in honey and essential oil. Now it is almost done. Transfer it to some tube and allow to cool until set.
The second lip balm is called “Healing Cold Sore Balm.” It is a little harder to prepare. You need to start making it in advance. Begin with making the lemon balm infused oil. Firstly, fill the jar with crumbled dried lemon balm leaves. Then pour the olive oil until the jar is almost full. After that, you should put a jar into a pan filled with a few inches of water. Heat for a few hours, then store in a sealed jar in dark and cold place for up to a year.
To finish the recipe, combine the lemon balm infused oil with other ingredients. Among them are coconut oil, temenu oil, castor oil, beeswax, and Shea butter. Also, ass a few drops of tee tree oil, peppermint essential oil, and clove bud oil. Heat everything until butter and wax melt. Then pour into containers and store.
Once you try making these lip balms, you will forget about cold sores. These recipes are useful. Try making it, and you will never regret.
Nevertheless, we advice you to contact your doctor prior to making a lip balm. Every person might have different reaction to ingredients. It is always better to check in advance and listen to the professional.
