Mashed Potato Lovers Have Been Fooled.

Mashed potatoes are one of the most delicious things in life (don’t deny it, you know it’s true), and they’re very easy to make. However, apparently, we’ve been preparing them incorrectly this whole time!

If you remember the process, you know that the potatoes are first boiled in water, then butter or milk is added, and they’re mashed into a purée… WRONG!

According to professional chef, Tyler Florence from the Food Network, this isn’t the right way to prepare this delicious dish. According to him, the potatoes must be boiled in milk instead of water. Then, three tablespoons of butter should be added, as well as a little olive oil and salt. They should then be cooked for about 20 minutes until they’re soft. After, you should add cream, and finally, mash.

This method of preparing them will help maintain the natural flavor of the potatoes and the chef insists they’ll be “the best mashed potatoes you’ve ever tried in your life.” Do you want to give this new method a try?
