Everyone who wants to live a long, healthy and happy life should remember to take good care of his or her health. As you age, many changes happen in your body; a healthy lifestyle is key to slow these changes or at least make them smoother.

Here are some of the changes that you have to watch out for:

1. Your bones
With age your bones become more fragile, the risk of developing osteoporosis increases. If you are worried about this condition, consult your doctor.

2. Your heart
Our body’s most important muscle weakens as we get older. Eat healthy and stay physically active to prevent damage to your heart.

3. Your brain and nervous system
Your brain needs exercise too! You may not develop dementia in old age, but you will start forgetting some things. Be sure to give your brain enough stimulation.

4. Your digestive system
Like in every other system of your body, changes happen to your gastrointestinal tract too. To ward off problems with digestion, you should watch what you eat.

5. Your senses
All of your senses become less acute in old age. Your body’s reaction time becomes slower, and it starts to require more stimulation.

6. Your teeth
Healthy diet and proper hygiene will help you prevent problems with teeth and gums.

7. Your skin
There is a number of factors that can contribute to skin damage or even cancer. Give up smoking and don’t forget about UV protection.

8. Your sex life.
Needless to say, both men and women can experience troubles with arousal. Luckily, there are ways to combat this problem.

Follow these simple steps to stay healthy as you get older:

>>work out;

>>communicate more with your loved ones;

>>watch your diet – say ‘no’ to fast food, start eating healthy;

>>don’t forget about regular full checkups;

>>always follow your doctor’s advice;

>>drink less alcohol;

>>don’t smoke;

>>get enough sleep.

Always remember, emotional well-being is just as important as physical. If you’re young at heart, your body feels better!
