These Are Normal Values For Kids And Adults

It is obvious that normal blood pressure for infants and adults is different, as it increases with age. So, what are the healthy figures for every age?

Actually, there’s no blood pressure for children which is considered normal because the doctors seldom measure that. They only do it if there are some evident blood pressure problems caused by diabetes or some other disease. Still, there are no normal values for kids because that depends too much on their size and age, which varies greatly. So the doctors simply consider whether it is higher or lower than that of 90 percent of kids of the same age and size.

As for the grown-ups, there really is no much difference in normal blood pressure for adolescents, adults and senior citizens. As long as it’s below 120/80, there is no need to worry. The first number here means the pressure in the blood vessels at the moment of heart contraction, therefore, showing the highest pressure. The second number indicates the lowest pressure at the time when the heart gets relaxed in-between contractions.

If any of these numbers are higher than this, you should contact a doctor. Your blood pressure can also get much lower than the normal one, although that happens less often. Some people may have it like that all the time and feel great, while others will start experiencing dizziness or even faint.

There are many factors that can influence your blood pressure, and the readings can be affected by stress or exercising right before taking it. So even if the numbers deviate from those considered normal, there still may be no reason to worry. It depends on each particular case and should be assessed by the doctor.
