Summer is here and the days of going to the beach, showing off our bodies in a bikini are approaching. But let’s face it, it isn’t easy to lose weight in order to get that “summer body” we crave. And it’s common, no matter how much we work out, for us to not lose weight. But why is that? Here we explain.

When we begin an exercise routine, it’s common for us to focus only on the exercise. It may even make us eat more. “I’m going to the gym anyway” is a common phrase to hear when indulging in fast food. Of course, this doesn’t help at all. We also need to maintain a balanced diet.

If we want to tone our body, we’ll need to look for a little more protein. If we just want to lose our stomach, we should be eating fewer saturated fats. Whatever the case, we need to change our diet.

We must also do exercise which is useful for us. Walking half a mile per week isn’t going to help us. We need to have a routine, a certain intensity and specific areas we want to focus on. For that, the best things is always to get help from an expert or professional for specific advice.

The important thing to remember is that weight is lost when the body burns more calories than it takes in. So, we should be eating less. Plus, remember that there are no shortcuts if you really want to have that fabulous summer body… you have to earn it. So, get to work!
