Mundaasupatti Movie Preview

Cast:    Vishnu, Nandita
Direction:    Ram
Production:    C. V. Kumar

Director Ram joins the list of short film makers entering the feature film industry. Filmmakers of this league either take up a new script for their maiden feature film or transform their successful short film as a full length feature film. Ram belongs to the second ilk by debuting in Ktown industry with ‘Mundasupatti’ one of his successful short film with the same title.

The film set in a period milieu is the first joint venture of C.V.Kumar who has introduced many young and talented filmmakers and artistes to the Tamil film industry through his Thriukumaran Entertainments banner and Fox Star Studios, the corporate production house which has some critically acclaimed and commercially successful films of the recent years in its bouquet.

The film’s story set in 1980′s revolves around the protagonist who is a professional photographer living in a village whose inmates believe that posing for a photograph will reduce one’s life expectancy.  The one-liner itself is enough to believe that the film will offer lots of moments to laugh out. The short film version has proved the comic content and one can expect that it will be extended in the feature film version as well. The trailer of the film assures that our expectations on comedy will be met with.

Actor Vishnu Vishal who has acted in some critically acclaimed film like ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’ and ‘Neerparavai’ is playing the lead role in this flick. With prestigious production houses and a script that has already clicked well with the masses, this film may do well in providing the much needed break in the talented actor’s career. Playing Vishnu’s love interest in the film is Nanditha who has become a household name in Tamilnadu with her performances in ‘Attakathi’, ‘Ethirneechal’ and ‘Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara’. The chemistry between the lead pair is evident in the trailer and has raised expectation on the romance quotient as well.

Kaali Venkat who has been gaining prominence as a comedy cym character artiste is playing a supporting role as Vishnu’s friend in the flick and his inclusion can be expected to provide rollicking comedy.

Music department has been handled by Sean Roldon who has proved his worth with his debut film ‘Vaayai Moodi Pesavum’. His songs for the film have attracted the music lovers and helped to create a positive buzz about the film.

The film has been cleared by the Censor board with a clean ‘U’ certificate and will be hitting the screens on June 13. Await a clean film coming with rollicking fun and right mix of emotions.

Mundaasupatti Music Review

Cast:  Vishnu, Nandita, Kaali Venkat, P.V.Shankar
Director: Ram Kumar
Production: C.V.Kumar
Music Director: Sean Roldan

Mundasupatti joins the list of growing as a feature film from the short film arena. Young and imaginative composer, Sean Roldan’s third outing has worked wonders for the most promising banner of Tamil cinema in the recent years. C.V. Kumar deserves a special mention for breeding special talents.

Killadi Oruthan : Anthony Dasan

A breezy folk number spiced up brilliantly by, Sean Roldan. The funky lyrics goes very well with the tune dished up. A pretty enjoyable short burst with functional orchestration.

Kaadhal Kanave : Pradeep Kumar, Kalyani Nair

The song opens with a dreamy flute note. Pradeep, kicks off the lyrics with blazing energy. The flute then goes on meet her best friends (other instruments) with a rhythmic flow, making way to, Kalyani Nair to join hands with the male lead. The violins picks up the pace from midway and literally acts as a third singer to the tune.

Idhu Enna : Haricharan, Kalyani Nair

Visualize a ride kicks off from 0-90km with in fraction of seconds. That’s how Haricharan picks up the pace and delivers a mesmerizing melody with this. A tune once again strongly backed up  by Violins and whistles. The last 30 seconds is a treat. Haricharan has come a long way and created a melody castle for himself.

Ambala Singam : Sean Roldan, Haricharan

Sean Roldan & Haricharan joins together to rock this retro tune. All the music directors are brilliant enough to render their voice to best tunes. Sean too ticks that successfully. The chorus spurced by through out the song is so kick ass and reminds of good 80′s genre. It’s always a pleasure to hear trumpets & drums compete each other. Groovy orchestration. Must listen.

Uchiyila Udhichavane : Vivek Narayan

A very functional, tamil folk. Sung by, Vivek Narayan. Nothing specific to mention. A very, very short tune.

Rasa Magarasa (Solo Version) :Sean Roldan

The most delightful tune composed so far, in this year. Anthoney Dassen brings his folk experience and dominates the tune completely. But at the same time, he is so clever to let the tune to surround his voice once he picks the pace. The interludes will sure to become the ringtones of college goers. Can someone be so imaginative with Violins alone? The answer is yes, from, Sean. He delivered a blissful experience with Violin, what we used to hear only from, Guitars. This song is a proof that, the composer can dish out a treat by changing the characteristics of an instrument. Guitar pays way to violin, violins keep aside for a while for keyboards and drums. And later, Violin makes a grand comeback. This is the “Mass Pick” of the album.

Rasa Magarasa (Duet Version) : Anthony Dasan, Sean Roldan

All the composers would love to experiment with their best tunes by composing with different singers/remixing it. Sean decides to go ahead with a duet version by roping, Rita and himself. Anthoney gets more imaginativie with the people around him and all three delivers a knock out.

The must listen from the albums are : Rasa Magarasa, Kaadhal Kanave, and Idhu Enna

Big buzz on 'Mundasupatti' releasing on June 13

There is a terrific buzz on Fox Star Studios and CV Kumar’s Thirukumaran Entertainment produced Mundasupatti, releasing on June 13. The film based on an award-winning short film, Mundasupatti is directed by debutant Ram Kumar.

It is a retro comedy set in the 80s, starring Vishnu and Nandita with music by Sean Roldan.

The trailer of the film rocked and got very good response on the social media.

Fox Star Studios innovative marketing, an interactive application has been created on the website, www.mymundasupattistyle.com that allowed visitors to create their own avatars of characters from Mundasupatti, went viral. It kindled a feeling of 80’s amongst the viewers.

A special screening of Mundasupatti was arranged for distributors and exhibitors a few days back. They loved the movie and saw potential in it which has now turned out to be a craze as nearly 207 screens in Tamil Nadu are going to screen it, very high for a Vishnu film. The multiplexes have given Mundasupatti, its biggest screens and four shows, something which they have not done before for a small film
