NEWBORN BABIES AND BEERS

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F4.bp.blogspot.com%2F-wl50svJnn54%2FT_JLSSWGxAI%2FAAAAAAAABi8%2F-h9Ii6YRLf8%2Fs320%2F376420_442789639086759_2045311261_n.jpg&hash=2d0327864dcfe6582ac324e34033126627813dd7)

In order to protect babies from diseases, Malaysians bathe them in beer.

Protecting babies by bathing them in beer may sound like a myth or a cultural thing, but Malaysians have been doing it for a very solid reason. According to scientific research, beer can indeed protect babies from various diseases and can even help them achieve better skin.

According to doctors, it is believed that bathing a new born baby with Guinness Stout is a natural way for babies to gain better skin complexion and healthy skin. The practice said to not only give babies better complexion but regular bathing in beer can prevent harmful germs from entering the skin that causes acne.

Malaysians conduct this practice by gently placing their babies in a small tub with a little amount of Guinness Stout. The amount of Stout used to bathe the baby is small and is divided into seven small parts. A small portion of beer is added into equal portion of water and the baby is then washed with it. Some people even dip towels in the mixture and then wipe the new born with it. Beer is also said to help a new born a lot if he or she suffers from Jaundice.

Now that's a BEER BATH.

ORANGES ARE GREEN, NOT ORANGE WHEN GROWN IN A TROPICAL CLIMATE!

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F3.bp.blogspot.com%2F-qMa3AuC1CEE%2FT_JLHsdHzEI%2FAAAAAAAABi0%2FzoH8fjSYlvs%2Fs320%2F555821_10151046742722277_802814148_n.jpg&hash=1d279f8d868bd8366e0061a64d4fe59552084780)

An orange is not a naturally occurring fruit , but rather a crossbreed of the tangerine and the pomelo, which is a fruit also known as the Chinese grapefruit. The first oranges were created in southeast Asia, where they would have been green, rather than orange.

The reason why oranges are green in a tropical climate is because the weather rarely gets cold. Because of the lack of cool weather, the chlorophyll remains in the skin of the orange, keeping it green. When an orange is exposed to cool weather while still on the branch it turns to orange. And orange that is left on the tree can change between green and orange several times depending on the weather.

This change of colors also means it’s impossible to tell if an orange is ripe. Fortunately for us, you don’t have to pay attention to if an orange is ripe. It remains ripe for a long time, even if left on the branch until the next season. The reason all of our oranges are orange in the store is because oranges are generally grown in subtropical areas, which means that they are exposed to cold weather. Oranges were able to give their name to the color because, most oranges are actually orange and not green.

Friday, 22 June 2012 - A team of research scientists have uncovered a human antibody that can neutralize and kill the dengue virus within two hours. A way to reproduce this antibody in large quantities has also been identified, potentially opening the door to a cure for dengue infected patients.

The researchers identified a recombinant antibody that could attach itself strongly to a specific part of the dengue virus and inhibit it from attacking other cells.

This discovery was made by a combined team from the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School and the Defence Medical & Environmental Research Institute at DSO National Laboratories (DMERI@DSO) with funding from the Singapore National Research Foundation under its Singapore NRF Fellowship, National Medical Research Council and DR Tech.

HOT WATER FREEZES MORE FASTER THAN COLD WATER !!!!

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F1.bp.blogspot.com%2F-jh9JD_Xml6E%2FT-aBQkqrecI%2FAAAAAAAABZ8%2FBomqJ_EnZWs%2Fs320%2F550870_399521423418845_762519246_n.jpg&hash=f2ac9448d6f8a7a5bbc5baff4b798d7939741832)

The hot water freezes faster than cold water. This means that the hot water's temperature is more likely to cool to temperatures below zero degrees Celsius. In the cold non-supercooled water, ice crystals form and float to the top, forming a sheet of ice over the top of the water, creating an insulating layer between the cooler air and the water. This ice sheet also stops evaporation. In the hot water that has become supercooled (thus, no longer hot) the water, when it does freeze, freezes throughout, creating more or less of a slush before freezing solid.

Why is hot water more likely to be supercooled? Because hot water is less likely to contain tiny gas bubbles. Gas bubbles form from dissolved gasses as the water cools. When the hot water was heated, these dissolved gasses may have been driven out. In cold water, ice crystals use the tiny bubbles as starting points for formation (in physics, we call them nucleation points). But in the hot water, there are no bubbles, so there aren't as many starting points for the ice crystals.

It would take about 1,200,000 mosquitoes to fully drain the average human body of blood.

There are actually 2,500 different varieties of mosquitoes, including some that live in the Arctic tundra. Male mosquitoes are actually vegetarians: the females sorry blood for the protein to produce eggs.

There's a chemical signal that stops a mosquito from feeding once its full. Scientists can disable that signal in a lab, making mosquitoes sorry until they explode!

The Reason for Tear while Cutting Onions

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F3.bp.blogspot.com%2F-iFQum5a5zso%2FT_lEk6My0AI%2FAAAAAAAABnU%2FwrBv9bP9-vs%2Fs320%2F487376_338835319528482_555383166_n.jpg&hash=cec2e9a8b89ae609b4303f3b42eb61c8e4ffb47e)

Onions contain a sulphur-based oil. When cut, the cells that contain the sulphur compounds are broken and the compounds are converted into sulfenic acid, which in turn produces a highly volatile chemical called synpropanethial-S-oxide, which then rises into the air.
When the synpropanethial-S-oxide from onions comes into contact with our eyes, it reacts with the moisture in our eyelids and results in the production of sulphuric acid, which irritates the eyes and stimulates the lachrymal glands. When stimulated, these glands release tears to flush out the acid and protect the eye.

Frogs have very special skin!
They don't just wear it, they drink and breathe through it

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F4.bp.blogspot.com%2F-UwRvsdv3jbk%2FT_7VR8GJxsI%2FAAAAAAAABqM%2Fx-orGIzBSbI%2Fs320%2F535024_152382344885493_81642948_n.jpg&hash=91424ed8eb9ca1c53f910845eb15d6ab734494f9)

Frogs don't usually swallow water like we do. Instead they absorb most of the moisture they need through their skin.

Not only that, but frogs also rely on getting extra oxygen (in addition to what they get from their lungs) from the water by absorbing it through their skin. Because frogs get oxygen through their skin when it's moist, they need to take care of their skin or they might suffocate.

Sometimes you'll find frogs that are slimy. This is because the frog skin secretes a mucus that helps keep it moist. Even with the slimy skin, these frogs need to stay near water. Toads on the other hand have tougher skin that doesn't dry out as fast, so they can live farther from water than most frogs.

In addition to jumping in water, frogs and toads can get moisture from dew, or they can burrow underground into moist soil.
Frogs shed their skin regularly to keep it healthy. Some frogs shed their skin weekly, others as often as every day! This looks pretty yucky...they start to twist and turn and act like they have the hiccups. They do this to stretch themselves out of their old skin! Finally, the frog pulls the skin off over it's head, like a sweater, and then (this is gross) the frog EATS IT!!!! (EEEEEWWW!)

CORPSE FLOWER
THE LARGEST FLOWER IN THE WORLD

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F3.bp.blogspot.com%2F-omIwLjqRMp4%2FT_2DrRI7qLI%2FAAAAAAAABps%2FmKtAgBLq3Bw%2Fs320%2F181170_502740923075259_1360779983_n.jpg&hash=1a102f21e851ed8d5354b539d87001b0ed0b200a)

This giant claims the title of the plant with the largest unbranched flower in the world. Believe It or Not! Its huge flowering structure (inflorescence) rises over 8.2 feet above the ground!

Due to its odor, which is similar to the smell of a decomposing animal, this behemoth of the plant world is also known as the “corpse flower”.

It is not completely certain why they release the foul smells, but it could have something to do with attracting possible pollinators.

These rare plants, while in the wild, only bloom every 30 to 40 years! Every time there is a “scheduled” flowering, huge crowds of people gather to witness the amazing event.

Don’t Think Too Much… It’ll Make You Fat

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F2.bp.blogspot.com%2F-CsbRUUTFlwY%2FT_w0DmSxhZI%2FAAAAAAAABo0%2FXZFp43mRBpA%2Fs320%2F531502_439123396127421_699427226_n.jpg&hash=326efd1f63caaf5e9385ffe5ca9bffa8bb8daa17)

Too much thinking could make you fat, according to a new study.
Researchers found the stress of thinking caused overeating with heavy thinkers seeking out more calories.
The research team, supervised by Dr Angelo Tremblay, measured the spontaneous food intake of 14 students after each of three tasks.
The first was relaxing in a sitting position, the second reading and summarizing a text, and finally completing a series of memory, attention, and vigilance tests on the computer.
After 45 minutes at each activity, participants were invited to eat as much as they wanted from a buffet.
The researchers had already discovered that each session of intellectual work requires only three calories more than the rest period.
However, despite the low energy cost of mental work, the students spontaneously consumed 203 more calories after summarizing a text and 253 more calories after the computer tests.
This represents a 23.6 per cent and 29.4 per cent increase, respectively, compared with the rest period.
Blood samples taken before, during, and after each session revealed that intellectual work causes much bigger fluctuations in glucose and insulin levels than rest periods.
Jean-Philippe Chaput, the study’s main author, said: “These fluctuations may be caused by the stress of intellectual work, or also reflect a biological adaptation during glucose combustion.”
The body could be reacting to these fluctuations by spurring food intake in order to restore its glucose balance, the only fuel used by the brain.
Mr Chaput added: “Caloric overcompensation following intellectual work, combined with the fact we are less physically active when doing intellectual tasks, could contribute to the obesity epidemic currently observed in industrialised countries.
“This is a factor that should not be ignored, considering that more and more people hold jobs of an intellectual nature.”
The results of the study, carried out at Universite Laval in Quebec, Canada, are published in the journal Psychosomatic Medicine.

Human Brain Analysis
 Man vs. Woman

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F2.bp.blogspot.com%2F-hPLGhzB7rFY%2FT_WU-SEbUSI%2FAAAAAAAABkc%2FweB8jExVW8A%2Fs320%2F394727_425414080831184_456203276_n.jpg&hash=af2bbcfaa1f994090c19b0aafc512cb02e28fbba)

1. MULTI-TASKING
Women - Multiple process
Womens brains designed to concentrate multiple task at a time.
Women can Watch a TV and Talk over phone and cook.
Men - Single Process
Mens brains designed to concentrate only one work at a time. Men can not watch TV and talk over the phone at the same time. they stop the TV while Talking. They can either watch TV or talk over the phone or cook.

2. LANGUAGE
Women can easily learn many languages. But can not find solutions to problems. Men can not easily learn languages, they can easily solve problems. That's why in average a 3 years old girl has three times higher vocabulary than a 3 yeard old boy.

3. ANALYTICAL SKILLS
Mens brains has a lot of space for handling the analytical process. They can analyze and find the solution for a process and design a map of a building easily. But If a complex map is viewed by women, they can not understand it. Women can not understand the details of a map easily, For them it is just a dump of lines on a paper.

4. CAR DRIVING.
While driving a car, mans analytical spaces are used in his brain. He can drive a car fastly. If he sees an object at long distance, immediately his brain classifies the object (bus or van or car) direction and speed of the object and he drives accordingly. Where woman take a long time to recognize the object direction/ speed. Mans single process mind stops the audio in the car (if any), then concentrates only on driving.

5. LYING
When men lie to women face to face, they get caught easily. Womans super natural brain observes facial expression 70%, body language 20% and words coming from the mouth 10%. Mens brain does not have this. Women easily lie to men face to face.
So guys, do not lie face to face.

6. PROBLEMS SOLVING
If a man have a lot of problems, his brain clearly classifies the problems and puts them in individual rooms in the brain and then finds the solution one by one. You can see many guys looking at the sky for a long time. If a woman has a lot of problems, her brain can not classify the problems. she wants some one to hear that. After telling everything to a person she goes happily to bed. She does not worry about the problems being solved or not.

7. WHAT THEY WANT
Men want status, success, solutions, big process, etc... But Women want relationship, friends, family, etc...

8. UNHAPPINESS
If women are unhappy with their relations, they can not concentrate on their work. If men are unhappy with their work, they can not concentrate on the relations.

9. SPEECH
Women use indirect language in speech. But Men use direct language.

10. HANDLING EMOTION
Women talk a lot without thinking. Men act a lot without thinking.

THE LARGEST JELLYFISH IN THE WORLD

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F2.bp.blogspot.com%2F-WlM-5zwMdO0%2FT-WeYUfYm4I%2FAAAAAAAABZg%2Fk-zT1qT6VH8%2Fs320%2F550716_430633393643088_516431814_n.jpg&hash=3d7b939be59e07861cce4bea88aac4beadfd7a35)

The Lions Mane Jellyfish is the largest jellyfish in the world. They have been swimming in arctic waters since before the dinosaurs (over 650 million years ago) and are among some of the oldest surviving species in the world.

The largest can come in at about 6 meters and has tentacles over 50 meters long. Pretty amazing when you think these things have been swimming around for so long. They have hundreds of poisonous tentacles that it used to catch passing by fish. it then slowly drags in it’s prey and eats it. That is terrifying.

Untidy Beds May Keep Us Healthy

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F2.bp.blogspot.com%2F-uTB7Mty_K2c%2FT-RuYPNJ1tI%2FAAAAAAAABYo%2FYDLUO9AwFD8%2Fs320%2F285654_491524100863608_126039928_n.jpg&hash=f510bde47b8ca0205f2dec43daa7075f9aab6587)

Failing to make your bed in the morning may actually help keep you healthy, scientists believe. Research suggests that while an unmade bed may look scruffy it is also unappealing to house dust mites thought to cause asthma and other allergies.

A Kingston University study discovered the bugs cannot survive in the warm, dry conditions found in an unmade bed.

The average bed could be home to up to 1.5 million house dust mites.

The bugs, which are less than a millimetre long, feed on scales of human skin and produce allergens which are easily inhaled during sleep.

The warm, damp conditions created in an occupied bed are ideal for the creatures, but they are less likely to thrive when moisture is in shorter supply.

The modern day orange carrot wasn’t cultivated until Dutch growers in the late 16th century took mutant strains of the purple carrot, including yellow and white carrots, and gradually developed them into the sweet, plump, orange variety we have today. Before this, pretty much all carrots were purple with mutated versions occasionally popping up including yellow and white carrots, among others.

The First Telephone Call - March 10, 1876:

What were the first words ever spoken on the telephone? They were spoken by Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the telephone, when he made the first call on March 10, 1876, to his assistant, Thomas Watson: "Mr. Watson--come here--I want to see you."

Bell's first telephone call was so famous, he repeated the phrase in 1915 in the formal opening of the completed transcontinental telephone lines connecting America's East and West coasts. But this time Watson replied that it would take him a week; he was on the other end of the line in San Francisco.

What would you have said on the first call?

Coffee was first discovered in Eastern Africa in an area we know today as Ethiopia. A popular legend refers to a goat herder by the name of Kaldi, who observed his goats acting unusually frisky after eating berries from a bush. Curious about this phenomenon, Kaldi tried eating the berries himself. He found that these berries gave him a renewed energy. The news of this energy laden fruit quickly spread throughout the region.

The chances of getting an apple like this are a million to one. It’s thought to be a random genetic mutation. The Apple was found in the orchard of a man named Ken Morrish, where he's grown apples for 45 years. The man was picking apples in his garden for a family member when he spotted the unusual apple.

The red side of the apple is said to taste sweeter than the green side does. The reason for this is thought to be that the red side has seen more sunshine during its growth. The discovery is extremely rare and intriguing.

Mr. Morrish is getting constant requests from his neighbors to take pictures of the rare apple.

Fever is a defense that the body uses to kill viruses and other germs. We
know that germs growing in cultures die if you turn up the temperature too
much. The same is happening in your body when your brain turns up the temperature when you get sick. We also know that the white blood cells and other protective mechanisms in the body work more efficiently at
higher temperatures. Getting a fever is an important part of your body's defense against infection.

10 Uses For Newspaper

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F1.bp.blogspot.com%2F-Se005Ocm6HI%2FT92HDifRJnI%2FAAAAAAAABTM%2FsMFlAi_vCYk%2Fs320%2F556429_327606420651372_1775890613_n.jpg&hash=69918038e9e78274cac664b24c9376936bbf94e2)

1. Deodorize food containers. Stuff a balled-up piece of newspaper into a lunch box or thermos, seal it, and let sit overnight.

2. Ripen tomatoes. Wrap them individually and leave them out at room temperature.

3. Pack delicate items.Wrap frames and figurines with several pieces of newspaper, then crumple the remaining sections to fill extra space in the box.

4. Wipe away tough streaks on glass.Use newspaper with cleaning fluid to clean mirrors and windows.

5. Preserve antique glass. Some older frames have finishes on the glass that can be damaged by cleaning solutions. Remove smudges by rubbing with newspaper dipped in a solution of one part white vinegar and one part warm water. Let air-dry.

6. Dry shoes. Place crumpled paper in them overnight.

7. Wrap gifts. Use the comics to wrap a child™s birthday gift, or try the wedding announcements for an engagement gift.

8. Create a home for slushy snow boots. During the winter, keep a pile of newspaper near the entryway. When your little snowmen and -women come home, they can toss their winter wear onto the newspaper instead of creating puddles on the floor.

9. Prepare a garden. In the fall, mow a patch of lawn to make room for a dedicated bed. Cover it with four layers of newspaper, then a four-inch layer of shredded leaves or bark mulch. Hose it down. Come spring, the compost blanket will have smothered the grass roots, and the bed will be primed for planting.

10. Keep the refrigerator vegetable drawer dry and free of smells. Line the bottom with newspaper.

The world’s highest rail bridge on the Chenab, which will provide a direct rail link to Kashmir, is likely to be completed by the end of 2015.The bridge — lying 65 kilometres from Katra — will rise 359 meters over the river. When completed, the bridge will be five times the height of Qutub Minar and 35 metres taller than Eiffel Tower. The bridge will be a scenic beauty as the train will come out of a 5.9km long tunnel from the Katra-end and pass through other bridges before it crosses the Chenab.

The 1,315-metre bridge will use 25,000 million tonnes of steel and is likely to be completed by the end of 2015, he said. It is likely to cost around Rs 650 crore.

Presently the world’s tallest rail bridge lies over France’s Tarn river and its tallest pillar rises 340 metres. However, the actual height at which trains run on the bridge is 300 metres. now,The Chenab bridge will be the highest in the world.

The Jammu-Udhampur-Katra-Quazigund-Baramulla Railway line is the biggest mountain railway construction. From Jammu to Baramulla, the length of the new rail line is 345 km. It passes through the young Himalayas, tectonic thrusts and faults, officials said. The rail line, which was declared a national project in 2002, is an attempt to provide an alternative transportation system to Kashmir. It is also expected to boost tourist inflow into the valley.
Wind speed, which may go up to 266 kmph at the height of 359 metres, can, however, be an irritant to the construction of the bridge. It has been decided not to allow trains to cross the Chenab if the wind velocity is more than 90 kmph.

International and national engineering agencies have also been roped in to facilitate the construction of the project, according to experts.

Leonardo da vinci ; Smartest person ever lived.!

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F4.bp.blogspot.com%2F-lcHYjkjZ_pQ%2FUD4LfA1HSaI%2FAAAAAAAACIk%2FNZce-iWMZFc%2Fs1600%2F538846_342052479223005_502079346_n.jpg&hash=77485fed30841bf96980a43dab87e2058316c88e) (http://www.friendstamilchat.com)

Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian polymath, having been a scientist, mathematician, engineer, inventor, anatomist, painter, sculptor, architect, botanist, musician and writer.Leonardo has often been described as the archetype of the "Renaissance man", a man whose seemingly infinite curiosity was equalled only by his powers of invention. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest painters of all time and perhaps the most diversely talented person ever to have lived. It is primarily as a painter that Leonardo was and is renowned. Two of his works, the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper occupy unique positions as the most famous, most reproduced and most parodied portrait and religious painting of all time. Leonardo's drawing of the Vitruvian Man is also iconic.

As an engineer, Leonardo's ideas were vastly ahead of his time. He conceptualised a helicopter, a tank, concentrated solar power, a calculator, the double hull and outlined a rudimentary theory of plate tectonics. Relatively few of his designs were constructed or were even feasible during his lifetime, but some of his smaller inventions, such as an automated bobbin winder and a machine for testing the tensile strength of wire, entered the world of manufacturing unheralded. As a scientist, he greatly advanced the state of knowledge in the fields of anatomy, civil engineering, optics, and hydrodynamics.

The renaissance man of the renaissance. He could have lived to be 500 and still not lived up to his potential.

How Chameleon Change Its Colours??

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F3.bp.blogspot.com%2F-JInXeZ6fweU%2FT6FsmfRqbXI%2FAAAAAAAAAwE%2FdhG6WLJQG48%2Fs1600%2F535995_450772081605923_417096831640115_88886368_1360200203_n.jpg&hash=7da9ae73296b84f522e82c883686a43c140dc179)

Chameleons have specializedcells, collectively called chromatophores, that lie in layers under their transparent outer skin. The cells in the upper layer, called xanthophores and erythrophores, contain yellow and red pigments respectively. Below these is another layer of cells called iridophores (or guanophores), and they contain the colorless crystalline substance guanine. These reflect amongst others the blue part of incident light. If the upper layer of chromatophores appear mainly yellow, the reflected light becomes green (blue plus yellow). A layer of dark melanin containing melanophores is situated even deeper under the reflective iridophores. The melanophores influence the 'lightness' of the reflected light. All these different pigment cells can rapidly relocate their pigments, thereby influencing the colorof the chameleon.

Where Did Galaxies Come From?

Science has only recently been able to explain where the stars and planets came from. Now,scientists have turned their attention to a much bigger mystery, where did galaxies come from? What is known is that galaxies are not scattered randomly throughout space, rather they are found in clusters, known as “super clusters”. Scientists have two main theories to attempt to explain galaxy formation. First, the gas left over from the big bang clustered together to form galaxies, in which stars and planets were born. Second is that gas from the big bang created stars and planets all over the universe, and they migrated through gravity into galaxies. Neither theory has been universally accepted yet.

* Einstein’s brain was similar in size to other humans except in the region that is responsible for math and spatial perception. In that region, his brain was 35% wider than average.

* Your brain consists of about 100 billion neurons.

* There are no pain receptors in the brain, so the brain can feel no pain.

* There are 100,000 miles of blood vessels in the brain.

* Your brain stopped growing at age 18.

* Reading aloud and talking often to a young child promotes brain development

* Studies have shown that child abuse can inhibit development of the brain and can permanently affect brain development

* Information can be processed as slowly as 0.5 meters/sec or as fast as 120 meters/sec (about 268 miles/hr).

* It is thought that a yawn works to send more oxygen to the brain, therefore working to cool it down and wake it up.

* You can’t tickle yourself because your brain distinguished between unexpected external touch and your own touch.

* Scientists have discovered that men and women’s brains react differently to pain, which explains why they may perceive or discuss pain differently.

* Women tend to take longer to make a decision, but are more likely to stick with the decision, compared to men, who are more likely to change their mind after making a decision.

Why Do Snakes Sleep With Their Eyes Open?

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F3.bp.blogspot.com%2F-9cGE86bATWo%2FT6YSUOA_lqI%2FAAAAAAAAAyE%2F6yUe1Bu19_c%2Fs1600%2F154590_447501975263299_235500106463488_1836622_182796532_n.jpg&hash=28d27d114e3ee31830d0e92ad8c867b787ab87c7)

Snakes sleep with their eyes open because they dont have any eyelids. Their eyes are covered by a clear scale called a spectacle. . . You can see this when your snake sheds its skin. - Some scientists believe that snakes went through a period in their evolution when they were underground and lost their eyes completely.- That may be why snake eyes have a very different structure than any other kind of animal. they dont have eyelids.. but they still sleep..you can tell by looking at the eye..if its like a very thin line in the middle..they're asleep.. make sure u wake them up 1st by tapping the cage before picking it up..they get aggressive when u shock them . .

Best Sleep Position

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F4.bp.blogspot.com%2F-HMu8QslItT8%2FT6gNQYcM1EI%2FAAAAAAAAAzw%2F-rFE3bX-zw4%2Fs1600%2F306217_358363770886518_105923789463852_967642_1014899512_n.jpg&hash=790b6977399d8bc9ad3002bb6075440019c28f5f)

Generally speaking, side or back sleeping is the best. I say this because true stomach sleepers must wrench their necks to either side. When you are a small child, it works because you can turn your head 90 degrees to either side. As you get older, this becomes more difficult and you can end up with a strained neck.

Back and side sleeping will keep your spine in its best alignment. Sometimes, snorers, sleep apnea sufferers, or people with heartburn/acid reflux may have some difficulty with these sleep positions. However, with a good neck pillow that opens up the sinuses and restores the neck curve, apnea and snoring are much improved. With a slight incline, reflux disease can be improved also.
A neck pillow also keeps your head level when youre on your side. Put a pillow between your knees and you keep your legs and pelvis level too.

Some Facts About The Sun

★ It takes 8 minutes for sunlight to travel from the sun to the earth while it takes about 1.25 seconds for moonlight to reach the Earth.

★ No solar eclipse can last longer than 7 minutes 58 seconds because of the speed at which the sun moves.

★ For 186 days you can not see the sun in the North Pole.

★ Every eleven years the magnetic poles of the sun switch. This cycle is called "Solarmax".

★ Aztecs believed that the sun died every night and needed human blood to give it strength to rise the next day. So they sacrificed 15,000 men a year to appease their sun god, Huitzilopochtli. Most of the victims were prisoners taken in wars.

★ More than 1 million earths would fit inside the sun.

How Far Can Our Eye See?

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F1.bp.blogspot.com%2F-28kXjBQWM6M%2FT8EhDdLJWCI%2FAAAAAAAAA-o%2FJS0ssenkQ8M%2Fs320%2F178987_300810070006165_2012562721_n.jpg&hash=fcb5e72f6f30b514ca15b4576d8f5272325b839d)

The Earth's surface curves out of sight at a distance of 3.1 miles, or 5 kilometers. But our visual acuity extends far beyond the horizon. If Earth were flat, or if you were standing atop a mountain surveying a larger-than-usual patch of the planet, you could perceive bright lights hundreds of miles distant. On a dark night, you could even see a candle flame flickering up to 48 kms away.

How far the human eye can see depends on how many particles of light, or photons, a distant object emits. The farthest object visible with the naked eye is the Andromeda galaxy, located an astonishing 2.6 million light-years from Earth. The galaxy's 1 trillion stars collectively emit enough light for a few thousand photons to hit each square centimeter of Earth every second; on a dark night, that's plenty to excite our retinas.

TIPS TO CLEAR SKIN:

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F1.bp.blogspot.com%2F-etxB2v13NC4%2FT8EgrV53QZI%2FAAAAAAAAA-Y%2FMz-RTBa_a-I%2Fs320%2F533172_385123151525339_250712958299693_964857_1482277260_n.jpg&hash=86625d3f4027bc53f94972c7bbfd0a442664f70e)

1. Wash your face at least twice each day, using a pure soap such as Ivory, and clean water. Hot water opens pores, so wash with hot water. Cold water closes pores, so splash your face with cold water after washing to ensure that your pores are protected from the environment. Splash with cold water before applying makeup as well.

2. Reduce the use of cosmetics as much as possible. These clog pores. If you must wear makeup, make sure that you are using hypoallergenic products, or products for sensitive skin. Splash your face with cold water before applying, and make sure you wash all the makeup away before going to bed.

3. Keep you hair and hands off your face. Hair and hands contain oils that can cause acne breakouts. When applying creams or makeup to the face, use applicators - not your hands. Don't lean with your hands on your face either. Keep your hair pulled back off your face.

4. Hydrate the body - and the skin - with water. Hydrated skin is healthy skin. Water helps to detoxify our bodies, and our skin, ridding us of elements that make us ill, as well as elements that can cause acne.

5. Eat a well balanced diet, and make sure that you include plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. Fruits and vegetables contain quite a bit of natural vitamin A and vitamin E, which is essential to good skin care.

6. Don't avoid the sun altogether, because that isn't healthy, but limit your time in the sun, and use a good sunscreen. Overexposure to the sun, or ultraviolet rays, can not only cause acne, but it can cause skin to age quickly. It can also cause skin cancer. Make sure you wash the sunscreen off when you come in from the sun to avoid getting clogged pores.

7. Don't squeeze pimples, or pick at any sores. This can cause the spread of acne, and it can leave scars as well. Instead, treat the pimples and sores with topical ointments and creams, keeping your hands off of them. Use cotton balls or q-tips to apply ointments and creams.

8.Stress is bad for the skin. Just as good hormones and chemicals are produced and released when we sleep, bad hormones and chemicals are produced when we are stressed. Avoid stress as much as possible, and learn to do deep breathing exercises, or other stress reducing techniques, for those times when you are stressed.

Man marries pillow

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F3.bp.blogspot.com%2F-9twU-xLczd4%2FT8Nvglqe32I%2FAAAAAAAAA_Y%2FpTDF0uuvSb8%2Fs1600%2FMANMARRIESPILLOW-.jpg&hash=61b329349c6d795ceaa6c875b951ee1823c0ac0a)

Lee Jin-gyu fell for his 'dakimakura' - a kind of large, huggable pillow from Japan, often with a picture of a popular anime character printed on the side.

In Lee's case, his beloved pillow has an image of Fate Testarossa, from the 'magical girl' anime series Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha.

Now the 28-year-old otaku (a Japanese term that roughly translates to somewhere between 'obsessive' and 'nerd') has wed the pillow in a special ceremony, after fitting it out with a wedding dress for the service in front of a local priest. Their nuptials were eagerly chronicled by the local media.

'He is completely obsessed with this pillow and takes it everywhere,' said one friend.

'They go out to the park or the funfair where it will go on all the rides with him. Then when he goes out to eat he takes it with him and it gets its own seat and its own meal,' they added.
The pillow marriage is not the first similarly-themed unusual marriage in recent times - it comes after a Japanese otaku married his virtual girlfriend Nene Anegasaki, a character who only exists in the Nintendo DS game Love Plus, last November.

Bulls are colour blind. The color red DOES NOT make bulls go crazy.

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F2.bp.blogspot.com%2F-l-8si4Iiugc%2FT8N0LusOKbI%2FAAAAAAAAA_0%2FlKTd-570W0k%2Fs320%2Fbullfight.jpg&hash=a0b4e31f318d29f83f354a0fe3fa6b8e6d70ac6f)

Ever see those Bugs Bunny cartoons where Bugs would paint something red and a bull would go crazy and charge at it? Turns out that wouldn't work.

The Mythbusters tested this one out and found that the bulls were just as likely to charge at white flags and blue flags as they were to charge at red ones. The bulls also ignored a guy dressed in red who stayed motionless. Turns out that bulls just charge at whatever moves the most, regardless of color.

This makes sense, since bulls wouldn't be able to tell if a cape or a flag was red anyway. Bulls are colorblind. Besides, in the middle of a bullfight, the bull is probably more mad about having a bunch of guys stabbing him with spears than he is about the color of the matador's cape.

South Africa became famous in the 19th and 20th centuries for its copious amounts of diamonds, yet the first one found has an interesting history.

It is called the Eureka Diamond, and a boy named Erasmus Jacobs first discovered it in 1867 near Hopetown on the Orange River. Jacobs was only 15 at the time and had no idea what he had found on his farm.

He took the diamond and used it in a game called “5 Stones”, when it caught the attention of his neighbor. Erasmus’ mother, believing the stone to be worthless, gave it away to their neighbor who presented it to the Civil Commissioner who in turn declared, “I believe it to be a diamond.”

The diamond was so amazing it was presented to Queen Victoria and displayed at the 1867 Paris Exhibition. 100 years after its initial discovery, the diamond was purchased and donated back to the South African people and is currently on display at the Kimberley Mine Museum.

India is currently at second for the world’s largest population with 1.21 billion people or 17% of the Earth’s population. When India was granted independence from the United Kingdom around 60 years ago, its population was around 350 million.

Since that time however, it has nearly tripled. In a matter of decades, it will out-populate China. This high population rate is a result of increasing poverty and sub-standard health care. There is very little awareness and education about birth-control, even amongst the middle classes.

Meanwhile China's population is expected to drop while the US is never expected to reach the mark of 1 billion people. India has created some goals to reduce their population rates, but those goals will need to be carried out with well-planned, and effective strategies to curb a growth rate of 1.6%.

Look at this strange animal! Yes, that is a purple polar bear believe it or not! This usually white polar bear created quite the buzz about the Mendoza City Zoo in Argentina when it unexpectedly turned purple. It seems that the polar bear named Pelusa had a skin condition that the zoo officials were trying to treat, and as a result of the special treatment of this condition the polar bear turned purple. The purple color only lasted for a little while, but it was quite the talk of the town and spread across the world news and internet like wildfire.

Neil Armstrong Carried a piece of the Wright Brothers’ 1903 Flyer with him to the moon:

Neil Armstrong is known throughout the world as the first man on the moon. His famous words “That’s one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind” are known almost universally. His biography, “First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong,” written by James R Hansesn, was released in 2005.

In it was a lot of very interesting information about Armstrong’s trip to the moon and back. On the Apollo 11 mission, each of the three astronauts had a small, lunch-box sized pouch called a “Personal Preference Kit,” or PPK.

It was a teflon-coated bag that, with the contents included, could weigh no more than five pounds. Its purpose was for the astronauts to be able to bring personal items to and from the moon.

The astronauts were allowed to chose whatever items they wanted, and while Michael Collins and Buzz Aldrin have auctioned off some of the items they took with them on the journey, little is known of the contents of Armstrong’s PPK.

Armstrong had made an arrangement with the National US Air Force Museum to be given a small piece of wood from the propeller of the Wright Brothers’ famous 1903 flyer, as well as a piece of the fabric from the left wing to include in his PPK.

Those who were born completely deaf and only learned sign language will think in sign language:

They can 'see' themselves signing in their mind in the same way that most people 'hear' themselves talking when they think. However, the level at which this happens depends on how early the hearing loss was, and what kind of languages they have learned.

Those who were born deaf but have had vocal training, will sometimes think in the language that they have learned. Deafness changes the way that the brain works in a more dramatic way than blindness does. In the past, people tried to teach deaf people how to interpret spoken language before teaching them to sign. This is completely changing, because research has shown that even if they learn spoken language, the brain never associates it with thoughts, so they don't develop an inner voice. Teaching them to sign allows them to develop the inner voice.

Silver is the whitest color of any metal.

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F2.bp.blogspot.com%2F-n9lHIwnk6kw%2FT84QBE8OCZI%2FAAAAAAAABDc%2F04Wxgwv3gc8%2Fs1600%2F562117_420729154633512_218257568214006_1251549_1446222359_n.jpg&hash=a0db52bd74a050f3ba2d828c61c85be11db611c1)

Silver is harder than gold, but softer than copper.

Silver is more malleable than any element except gold. It can be pounded to a thinness of 6/10000 of a millimeter, or thin enough for light to pass through, one hundred and fifty times thinner than a standard piece of paper. One ounce of silver can be drawn into 8,000 feet of thin wire.

Of all the elements, silver is the best conductor of electricity and is used as a comparative meaure for the conductivity of all other metals.

Of all the elements, silver has the highest degree of reflectivity, and can reflect up to 95% of visible light.

A soft, malleable, ductile, bluish-white, dense metallic element, extracted chiefly from galena and used in containers and pipes for corrosives, solder and type metal, bullets, radiation shielding, paints, and antiknock compounds

Alchemists believed lead to be the oldest metal. It was associated with the planet Saturn.

ELECTRICITY FROM SNAILS....

We all would be familiar with this little creature which creeps so slowly and having a hard shell at its back often found in the gardens and on plants.

Well, we Humans have finally figured out something positive from them as well other than creeping and amusing children: Scientists at the Clarkson University in Potsdam, New York want to extract electricity from their blood after they have been implanted with biofuel cells.

According to Evgeny Katz, the leading scientist of that team shared that the electricity is extracted from the glucose and oxygen in the snail’s blood. All they do is attach their electrodes to it and extract the power from it.

This could be brought to a huge scale as the power generation likely from this source would be amazingly a new dimension.

OCTOBER WAS ORIGINALLY THE EIGHT MONTH OF THE YEAR.

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F2.bp.blogspot.com%2F-o9-bXf66rtU%2FT5zWKnWQjWI%2FAAAAAAAAAtk%2FmAQfVbL9vus%2Fs320%2F545580_404654519566938_354632144569176_1302512_145200676_n.jpg&hash=b42d2502df6157bdbfd43a73d691e0978c376018)

The original Roman calendar that our modern calendar is based on was 304 days long and contained only 10 months. The final six months (Quintilis, Sextilis, September, October, November, and December) were derived from the Latin words for the numbers 5-10! Quintilis and Sextilis would later become known as July and August, but their namesakes, Julius Caesar and Augustus Caesar weren't born yet.

During the reign of Numa Pompilus, the emperor chose to add the months of January and February to the beginning of the calendar, thus making the calendar 355 days long. In doing so, however, he made the names of the final months misnomers!

Facts About Turtles

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F3.bp.blogspot.com%2F-ghQoemiJzTw%2FT5uFtVOIkiI%2FAAAAAAAAAr0%2FhGZBHuhsgq4%2Fs320%2F578978_439763876037109_235500106463488_1817823_966548197_n.jpg&hash=9ebf974defbfd5e249ad3389e5dbb7cd1a37a002)

1. Turtles cannot breathe in water, but they can hold their breath for several periods of time.
2. Adult sea turtles can weigh from 150 – 1000 pounds!
3. They are thought to have exceptional night vision due to the unusually large number of rod cells in their retinas.
4. They use their jaws to cut and chew food. Some turtles can live for more than a year without food. 5. They lay soft and leathery eggs. The eggs of largest species are of round shape while the eggs of other turtle species are elongated. They deposits their eggs in holes dug in sand or mud and incubate the eggs themselves. Some turtle lay their eggs on dry, sandy beaches. They lay 100-120 eggs in the nest and take about 2 months to incubate and their sex is determined by the temperature. Temperature determines whether an egg develops into a male or a female: a higher temperature causes a female, a lower temperature causes a male.
6. The baby turtles crawl fast to the water.
7. Turtles have been on the earth for more than 215 million years.
8. The top domed part of a turtle's shell is called the carapace and the bottom underlying part is called the plastron. Most land tortoises have high domed carapaces that offer protection from the snapping jaws of terrestrial predators. They withdraw their neck into their shell for protection.
9. The shell of a turtle is made up of 60 different bones all connected together.
10. When in danger the green turtle can swim almost 20 miles an hour to escape.

Not only rare but fascinating, the Ghost Orchid is a plant that was presumed to be extinct for almost 20 years and only recently materialized again. The plant is so rare because it is near-impossible to propagate. It has no leaves and does not use photosynthesis to manufacture its own food.

The Ghost Orchid can live underground for years and is only found in forests in Cuba, and another variety, in Florida. In Cuba they grow on cypress trees in which they appear to float like ghosts, thus the name. They can only be pollinated here by the giant sphinx moth and if their seeds land on a specific moss.

Coca-Cola is one of the most popular soft drinks in the world. In fact, over one billion cans of Coca-Cola are consumed every day. But this magical drink can be used in many more ways than just an ordinary cold refreshment.

1. Coca Cola was first invented by a pharmacist name John Pemberton as a medicine to cure headaches.
2. Coca-Cola is called “Coca-Cola” because of the original ingredients used in the medicine, Coca leaves and Kola seeds.
Wine was also added in place of sugar similar to the coke we drink today.
3. When Mentos is added to Coca-Cola, the carbon dioxide in the coke will be rapidly released, causing
the coke in the bottle to burst out. Diet coke works the best.
4. Coca-Cola can be used to help cure jellyfish stings.
5. Coca-Cola can also be used as a cleaning solution, cleaning
anything from rusty pans to dirty toilets. It can also be used to remove odor.
6. If you accidentally got gum in your hair, rinse it in coca-cola and the gum will come of very easily.
7.While someone was having a competition “who can drink the most coke in one go” they drank 8 bottles of coke and died on the spot. This was because he had too
much carbon dioxide and to less oxygen in his blood.
8. Coca cola was first green.

FACTS ABOUT MOSQUITOES

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F3.bp.blogspot.com%2F-do_hrqQKObo%2FT4KPwCAzHjI%2FAAAAAAAAAiU%2Fdfs5GFbZhwo%2Fs320%2F546718_380780788611830_231807496842494_1187713_419328285_n.jpg&hash=58a892ef35232ae28f3623d4ed85665222970134)

1. Only female mosquitoes bite humans and animals; males feed on flower nectar.
Mosquitoes mean nothing personal when they take your blood. Female mosquitoes need protein for their eggs, and must take a blood meal in order to reproduce. Since males don't bear the burden of producing young, they'll avoid you completely and head for the flowers instead. And when not trying to produce eggs, females are happy to stick to nectar, too.

2. Mosquitoes fly at speeds between 1 and 1.5 miles per hour.
That might sound fast, but in the insect world, mosquitoes are actually rather slow. If a race were held between all the flying insects, nearly every other contestant would beat the pokey mosquito. Butterflies, locusts, and honey bees would all finish well ahead of the skeeter.

3. A mosquito's wings beat 300-600 times per second .
This would explain that irritating buzzing sound you hear just before a mosquito lands on you and bites.

4 . All mosquitoes require water to breed. Some species can breed in puddles left after a rainstorm.
Just a few inches of water is all it takes for a female to deposit her eggs. Tiny mosquito larva develop quickly in bird baths, roof gutters, and old tires dumped in vacant lots.If you want to keep mosquitoes under control around your home, you need to be vigilant about dumping any standing water every few days

5. Mosquitoes can detect carbon dioxide from 75 feet away.
Carbon dioxide, which humans and other animals produce, is the key signal to mosquitoes that a potential blood meal is near. They've developed a keen sensitivity to CO2 in the air. Once a female senses CO2 in the vicinity, she flies back and forth through the CO2 plume until she locates her victim ..

Kliluk - The Amazing Spotted Lake :

Spotted Lake is a saline endorheic alkali lake located northwest of Osoyoos in British Columbia. It is located near the city of Osoyoos, beside Highway 3.Spotted Lake is very highly concentrated with numerous different minerals. It contains some of the highest quantities (in the world) of magnesium sulfate, calcium and sodium sulphates. It also contains extremely high concentrations of 8 other minerals as well as some small doses of four others such as silver and titanium.

Most of the water in the lake evaporates over the summer, leaving behind all the minerals. Large “spots” on the lake appear and depending on the mineral composition at the time, the spots will be different colors. The spots are made mainly of magnesium sulfate, which crystallizes in the summer. In the summer only the minerals in the lake remain, and they harden to form natural “walkways” around and between the spots.

Now..., The world’s smallest lappy --- The iKIT!

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F4.bp.blogspot.com%2F-qoy_pa8x1-8%2FT2H5hzNZOFI%2FAAAAAAAAAck%2FAevUhukt6Lc%2Fs320%2F419847_365363706820205_231807496842494_1140660_1756070215_n.jpg&hash=5a7f3fd10e32d912efc46308371c7769274faa0f)

Coming in at a measly squint-and-you’d-miss-it 15×66 x 94mm the iKIT weighs a bowl-of-sugar-bothering 115g. It’s so small it’d probably get lost in your pockets.
It still manages to find room for a 2.8-inch screen and packs a full QWERTY keyboard. With little space for a hard drive, memory’s taken care of via SD card allowing up to 8GB of storage space.

The iKIT doesn’t skimp on web browsing either. It’s got Wi-Fi tucked in and the Opera web browser for flea-sized Facebooking. Bluetooth is there too along with a three-hour battery life and 250 standby hours (pointless, but true).

It is considered a multiple edible fruit because it is formed from a cluster of flowers, in which the inflorescence produces a fruit and matures into a single mass. A pineapple is simply a large berry misnamed because of its appearance!

Two Japanese inventors have created a device that stops people from talking, it's called the Speech Jammer!

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F1.bp.blogspot.com%2F--oP2pwLzgVo%2FT14mRizJZ6I%2FAAAAAAAAAZE%2F7fkgwJDazKU%2Fs320%2F417623_405949309420009_114154478599495_1769649_1802815363_n.jpg&hash=fee7b974c204b71fbd6fa3703dd8239c33aac01e)

Ever came across someone so annoyingly chatty that you wanted to shoot them with an invisible gun and shut them up? Well, you might just be able to, thanks to the Speech Jammer. It’s a Japanese invention that could very well be the perfect answer to all the talkative people out there. The device is said to be powerful enough to jam a person’s speech from up to 98ft away.

The inventors, Kazutaka Kurihara and Koji Tsukada, explain how it works. The prototype invention supposedly records the obnoxious speech with a directional microphone, adds a 0.2 second delay, and then fires it right back at the prattler with the help of a directional speaker. So there’s basically a delay between when the person says something and when they hear their own speech. This would mess with the person so bad, that they would soon be rendered speechless for a while. Perfect! But then, the device itself looks so huge and scary in its current avatar, I think people might shut up the very moment it was pointed at them.

Music can be so powerful it can affect your mood, brainwaves, and even your heartbeat! It turns out that when we listen to music our body reacts to the sounds we hear.

Music is so influential it can alter your heartbeat, pulse rate, blood pressure, decrease your muscle tension, and even affect your body movement and coordination !!!

If a person listens to rock or techno, their heartbeat will involuntarily speed up. The opposite is true if someone listens to more calming or instrumental music.

Apricot(A poisonous fruit):

Apricots might not be toxic themselves but if you ingest the seeds along (in larger doses), they are. Seeds or kernels of the apricot grown in central Asia and around the Mediterranean are so sweet that they may be substituted for almonds. The Italian liqueur amaretto and amaretti biscotti are flavored with extract of apricot kernels as well as almonds. Oil pressed from these cultivars has been used as cooking oil. Apricot kernels can sometimes be strong-tasting and bitter. They feature in recipes for apricot jam, and Italian amaretto cookies and liqueur.

Taken in excess, they may produce symptoms of cyanide poisoning, including nausea, fever, rash, headaches, insomnia, increased thirst, weakness, lethargy, nervousness, various aches and pains in joints and muscles, a drop inblood pressure. It is known for containing amygdalin, a toxic cyanogenic glycoside.

The poison in Monkshood is called Aconitine and it contain an Alkaloid toxin, the deadliest and most alarming poisonous substances known to man and its poisoned symptoms are burning sensations inside the mouth, dizziness, headaches and may be vomiting. In case larger quantities of the poison are ingested then breathing will become difficult and paralysis for shortly and may also result in blood circuit failure, the victim writhes in agony. His spasms however rapidly decrease and may result in unconsciousness lead to imminent death. If its poison is affected to a man and toxin absorption is half an hour, it may result in ingesting to death, a slow and painful death similar to strychnine poisoning. However, most instances of contact from this plant are just to touch the petals and this will result in irritation, slight dizziness and a little nausea, death only happens if the plant is eaten.

Even the phrase “seeing is believing” is not enough when looking at this astonishing fish! Meet Macropinna microstoma, commonly known as the “barreleye”. Barreleye fish have a transparent head like a fighter-plane cockpit with large internal eyes that are able to look upward. Living at depths of 600 to 800 meters below the surface, these ultra-sensitive eyes help these fish search for the faint silhouettes of prey

How Far Can a Bird Fly In a Day?

(https://friendstamilchat.in/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2F3.bp.blogspot.com%2F-9dbzWszKq3s%2FT9x3q5W54gI%2FAAAAAAAABSA%2FHhfV7_Be6P0%2Fs1600%2F580039_487783214571030_158799395_n.jpg&hash=67a99e57b300923a49bf203ffce287e7d3ed7090) (http://www.friendstamilchat.com)

The information scientists have about how many miles a bird flies in a day comes from birds that have been banded or tagged.

This banding usually takes place when birds are migrating from one place to another. A bird is caught at some point on its journey, and a metal band is fitted around its leg.

The scientists then try to find the bird in the area they know will be its future home. According to the records, most birds are in no hurry when they make their long flight. Few travel every day. They may even make a stop for a week or so if food is plentiful.

Birds whose average speeds are 20 or 30 miles an hour usually travel about 160 miles a day. Strong fliers, such as ducks and geese, cover as much as 332 miles a day. If birds start their travels late in the year, they fly more hours each day and take little time off to eat and rest.

Few birds fly more than eight to ten hours a day
