Nowadays many women suffer from the problem that is now called hair fragility. As a rule, it is caused by the shaft damage (visible part of the hair).
Scientifically speaking, you should know that the shaft consists of 3 layers.
1. Outer layer – cuticle. It is a thin colorless layer of keratin plates. All the more, it protects the next layer called cortex.
2. Middle layer – cortex. The thickest layer that occupies 80% of hair thickness. It determines the strength and color of the hair and consists of keratin strands.
3. Inner layer – medulla. This layer is hollow. Also, it does not exist in vellus hair.

Now when you know a bit about the structure of our hair, we can move on to figuring out how to care about it and prevent its damage. As a rule, in healthy hair keratin plates are closely adjacent to each other, while in the damaged one they are not so close. In the result, the damaged hair is getting thinner, has split ends and breaks easily.
To help your hair a bit, you should know these basic rules:
1. Try to avoid all possible chemicals such as chlorine water and hair dye. All this does great damage to your hair.
2. Do not expose your hair to UV rays and high temperature. It means that whenever you are on the beach, try wearing a hat. What is more, use less hair dryer and hair straightener.
3. Do not comb your hair too often. Give it some time until your hand will be looking for a comb again.
4. Eat well. It means that your body needs to receive all the necessary vitamins. It will help your hair to look healthy.
5. Do not take too many toxic drugs.

You should remember that different external factors damage your hair cuticle the most. Malnutrition and certain diseases lead to a shortage of essential nutrients in the follicle (hair bulb) during its growth. All this leads to vulnerable and damaged hair.
Do not worry if your hair is weak. There is always a way out. As the hair shaft does not contain living cells, it is not possible to restore it. However, our hair grows quickly (about 1 cm a month), and if you have identified and removed the causes of your hair damage, get ready to become a happy owner of the best hair ever.
