Here are some simple but effective things we can do to prevent breast cancer:

Don’t smoke

Recent studies show that there is a connection between breast cancer risk and smoking, especially if we are talking about women before menopause. Not smoking is also beneficial for your general health, so don’t start or quit if you still smoke.

Limit alcohol

If you drink large amounts of alcohol on a daily basis, your risk of developing this disease is significantly higher. Researchers advise limiting alcohol consumption to less than one drink per day for better results.

Watch your weight

If you are overweight, your breast cancer risk is higher. This is particularly true if problems with weight occur after menopause.

Stay physically active

Regular exercises help to stay in good shape and control weight that, in turn, contributes to preventing breast cancer.

Breastfeed

As it turned out, breast feeding may prevent developing breast cancer. The protective effect increases when you breastfeed longer.

Control your hormone levels

Combination hormone therapy may be a significant risk factor if it lasts more than three or five years. So if you use hormone therapy to improve your menopausal symptoms, consult with your physician about other options.

Avoid radiation exposure

Some studies demonstrate a link between high doses of radiation and developing breast cancer, so try to avoid it.

Have a balanced diet

Healthy eating habits help to be at a healthy weight and good shape, at the same time, it is an important factor in breast cancer prevention.
