While driving and you suddenly see the “E” symbol appear on your dashboard, don’t panic about running out of petrol.
You’re pretty sure that you won’t know how far your car can travel in that situation. But it’s always good to know the distance your car can travel before it eventually runs out of gas.
Here are a few things you should take note of:
1) Your car's petrol tank has a reserve of 4.5 litres after the arrow passes “E” and it is applicable to all engine types. With this reserved 4.5 litres, your vehicle can run at least another 60km.
2) ”E” does not mean “Empty”, it means “Enough”.
3) If you turn your air conditioner off, you can travel another 10km.
4) This 10km is only applicable if you are driving at 50km/h consistently.
