Corn silk is the strands found under the green color outer covering of the corn. As kids, you must have been fascinated about it since they resemble a dolls hair. Many people just throw it away because we don’t know that it has so many uses and it can benefit us so much.
The corn silk is the strands that is found under the green colour covering the corn. We always throw it away without knowing the benefits that we can obtain from it, here are some points you want to obtain:
1)Prevents Kidney Stones:
Kidney stones are formed from accumulation of small crystals in the kidney, so by consuming corn silk it helps to regulate urine flow and does not allow accumulation of crystals.
2)Helps in blood clotting:
Corn silk has Vitamin K which makes sure that you don’t loose excessive blood and when you get hurt it will help to prevent blood loss.
3)Controls blood sugar:
The corn silk controls the blood sugar levels, increases insulin levels and helps repair damaged cells in the pancreas.
4)Controls cholesterol:
High cholesterol leads to several heart disease especially. The silk corn helps to prevent and keep away the heart-related ailments.
Ways to consume:
1)Boil water and add in the corn silk, serve it hot or cold. Add lemon juice to enhance the taste if needed.
2)Put the corn silk in a jar full of water under direct sunlight for one day. Take it in the evening, add honey, water and drink it .
