Understanding someone is not everyone's cup of tea, especially when there are so many layers to his/her personality. So let me help you out in figuring out the 'one' who has been a mystery to you. Now, now I am not so good at judging people myself but as it turns out their feet have been talking to you all along. But, you never listened. ..is the sign of depression. Depression makes people put all their weight on the front portion of the foot which leads to skin darkening.

Feet are paler than the ankle?

The reason is bad blood circulation due to which the feet appears paler than the ankle.
