Ever since its inception in the late 1890s, the tango has been one of the most romantic and passionate dances, almosy a synonym with love. What you are about to see is not strictly a tango dance, but a dance called the Milonga , which incorporates the same basic elements as tango but permits a greater relaxation of legs and body. Movement is normally faster, and pauses are not made. It is rather a kind of rhythmic walking without complicated figures, with a more humorous and rustic style in contrast with the serious and dramatic Tango.
