Karthi has emerged a mass hero and his films including Siruthai and Saguni were commercial entertainers centered around a lofty theme. No different is Alex Pandian. It is directed by Suraaj, who made films like Padikathavan, Marudhamalai and Mapillai.
The title Alex Pandian is inspired by a character played by Rajnikanth in Moondru Magam.
The film as we expected turns out to be a comical and an action thriller with plenty to cherish for Karthi fans.
Karthi, Anushka, Santhanam besides a battery of villains including Suman and Milind Soman play key roles in the film.
What begins as a fun-ride slowly picks up steam to end a racy and a bloody battle. Music by Devi Sri Prasad comes to the rescue and specially the background score adds to the momentum.
The film revolves around a history-sheeter (Karthi), who kidnaps the Chief Minister’s (Visu) daughter (Anushka). However he is in for some surprise. He falls for the girl.
Surpirisngly he comes to know that there is a group that is out to give more trouble to the State and have some plans. How Karthi emerges from tight situation forms the rest.
Karthi has given a commendable performance. He is cool and expressive. His comical acts comes handy.
Anushka is at her best and she comes in a few songs and leaves her might.Santhanam hogs all limelight. His one-liners needs to be watched out.
If you forget logic, Alex Pandian is a fun.
