Despite the proximity of the ocean, deep choppy mountain ranges of the Pyrenees and the Sierra Cantabria are a natural shield against the cold winds and torrential rains. One of the trademarks of the area is oak barrels, which give a pronounced vanilla taste both to red and white wines. Rioja offers perhaps the most typical Spanish wines with a unique, warm and rich character that perfectly match with the passion spirit of Spain.
